Title: Problem loading FF1
Post by: captainawesome on January 26, 2012, 02:59:13 AM
I seem  to be having trouble getting  :ff: to load, I use Windows 7 64 bit, and I had it running on this computer once, but for some reason I've been unable to determine, it seems to have stopped working. I tried reinstalling it, and the 1.3 patch, but it still won't even load. Anyone else have this problem? On an unrelated note, I also have  :ffvstr: installed, and it runs perfectly.

Mine is running in Win7 32 bit okay. Did you set your compatability mode to WinXP?

Yes, service pack 2.

Mine's set at service pack 3 - maybe try that. Otherwise no clue on why it won't work. Maybe it's a 64 bit problem since that seems to be an issue with some programs - though you did say you had it running before.

Oddly enough, it started working when I put in in compatibility mode with Windows 98....... strange...... It seems to work normally now, except for fx, the fx appears in game, but not in the game files, there wasn't even an fx folder in library. so I'm having trouble with custom fx, but the game itself is working.

Good news. You may have to re-extract your files then for the fx.

I tried that, but the files didn't seem to be on the disk. I tried creating a folder called "fx" and inside two folders called "textures" and "generic", and the running ezfx, but alas, that has failed.
