Title: Jump Attack
Post by: Xenolith on June 01, 2014, 03:30:28 AM
Hi,

Getting back into FFvTR and I have a question about ranged melee attacks.  Would it be possible to use a jump animation to set up a ranged melee attack?  I would still use the short-ranged projectile method.  Is it possible?  Would it work?  Is there a way to trigger consecutive keyframes in Nifskope?  Like a jump followed by a punch?

Thanks.

If I recall correctly, Renegade was able to create jump attacks for attacking T-Rex and possibly fliers, too.
If you downloaded his Dynamo THUNDER Agent mesh, I think there was a script in there that detailed how to achieve it.
He also included that dino-attack animation in his Hulk meshes too, I believe.

Now granted, this is more of a scripted solution then what you are proposing. But, since that animation (jumping and punching) is now out there for male_basic, you could put it into your keyframes and maybe save a step, and keep it a short-ranged projectile attack.

Both ideas sound promising.  I am unfamiliar with the jump punch animation.  Where is that?
