The only result I found on the forum for this alert for :ffvstr: is archived and without a solution.
I was merging FX and sound DATs borrowed from EZFX from :ff: but now it don't work, giving just the message:
alert: failure to load character def
What am I doing wrong?
I'm not sure how to fix this error other than replacing your current files with the backup .dats that should have been made when attempting to merge the files.
Merging :ff: and :ffvstr: files won't work. They're built differently, so a Merge between the two isn't really possible.
