Ok this is gonna sound pompous as all hell but I'm looking into possibly doing some live stream with chat while skinning and maybe some video tutorials if there is an interest
I'm still looking into how this would work and weather or not to get a mic or not. If this happens would anyone be interested or have suggestions for tutorial subjects
I can never get into live stream, I am antisocial even on the web. But I would totally watch it on youtube. I'm always looking to learn.
Would you start with basics, or advanced techniques?

Limitations from my ISP means that I can't live stream either, But Youtube...
I suggest both. Record the session and post it if you can.
Well any live stream would be recorded sound removed and sped up to continue my series of speed paint skins.
Personally, I love watching the Speed Paint Skins, and I'm definitely interested in Tutorials (Anything you want to teach, I'm willing to try and learn). As much as I'd want to take part in a Live Stream, scheduling is definitely an issue, but it would be really cool to have a Q & A Session as you're doing the Live Stream.
thats be cool but i dont know if the community would be interested enough to do a full Q&A lol
Yeah, unfortunately, I thought about that after I re-read my post. While I'm sure that there are a few of us who would like to learn more about Skinning, from the Basics on up, I'm sure the more experienced Skinners would be either bored or annoyed if we started asking too many questions during a Live Stream.
What makes you think we won't be asking questions too? ;)
ok guys id be up for that. if people would find it interesting. i can look into it and see whats possible
time wise if i do it it would probably be around7/8 gmt some night. but if people wanted q they could post them in a thread first and then just wing it on the chat. id just have to pick a character to skin lol.
To be honest though, I've never done anything like this before. Is this something we type in what we want to say, or do we need a Microphone, or Camera or something?
Will this be on Twitch, or something else? I would definitely be interested in seeing how you perform mira... err, photoshop.
Timing might be an issue for me, but I think I can manage a few, here and there ^_^

i was looking into a mic anyway and camera wise it woud just be my screen, so people could post questions in the chat or thy could compile a list before it goes live
i'm most likely going to do it on youtube, ive no experiance with twitch.
So far, this just sounds better and better. As far as I can tell, there are just a few things left:
1: Pick a day that you can do this, and that we can also hopefully participate.
2: Figure out the Time Difference between where you are, and where we are (Not a strong area for me).
3. Decide what aspect of Skinning you want to do the Tutorial on.
4: Determine which Character would best suit the needs of your Tutorial.
well the original idea was to live stream me making a skin and just answer questions and if anyone wanted to go into more details i could spin off tutorials from that
this sounds so pompous of me, i will make tutorials and tell everyone what to do lol
Pompous hell; I have probably been doing art longer than you, but that doesn't mean that there is nothing left for me to learn from you.
It's why I study old skins.
Definitely my bad here. Saying I got more than a bit excited for this is an understatement. :D

Pompous nothing, I've seen your Skins, and when you're that good...you talk, I'll listen.
ok guys if we're gonna give this a try and why the hell not. ive got my mic on th way and ive picked out a skin to do. so we can see what happens. im not sure of a date but if anyone has any questions they wanna ask first then go ahead
I'm going to jump on this one...
1.) How do you give your Skins individualized Faces?
2.) If you are using a Base Skin that has a full face, how would you remove the Mouth to Skin a Character like "Deathstroke" or "Spiderman"?
I'm always interested in tutorials. Unfortunately i'm not sure if i can participate in any live stream chat at the moment. Hope i could watch it instead on youtube.
Guys even if you can't make the live stream(which I pray I can work out) ask questions about anything otherwise it's either gonna be dead air or me rambling or crying into the mic and no knee wants that trust me
Cool, another question then...
What techniques can you show us for Skinning Weapons, such as Guns, Swords, Etc.?
Well so far, Cyber Burn gave some very good questions already that i'd be interested to know as well.
Hmmm. I guess you could give some tips and pointers to those things you've noticed other skinners seem to have difficulty with. Or some aspects of skinning your very confident or proud of. Like if its your work with Optimus Prime ( or you're av Flesh Eater) you're quite satisfied with, you could try and teach how you did that skin. Some other things you could just share are some of the techniques you've learned/picked up over the years that you've found very useful. Or some common mistakes you or you've seen others do in some of their skins?
Personally i have difficulty trying to skin faces, muscle tones, little details like fingers, toes, nose, eyes, ears. Little details on suits(like creases),jeans, shoes, boots. Little details on armor, robots, guns, weapons and a whole lot more really. :P
But anything you decide to teach would be ok.

Actually, this sounds like a series of lessons. :)
ok i'll do my best but im not sure how i will answer some of these lol
my mic has arrived and im gonna look into when i can do this, hopefully soon. ive also looked into making the first few private streams so only guys with the link can get into them
ok guys im thinking of giving this a try on monday night 27/3 between 7 and 8 gmt. so if youre interested let me know and i'll work out how to set up a private stream and post the link. keep the questions coming im looking into who to skin but im open to reasonable suggestions
Very interested...Unfortunately, Fridays and Mondays are going to be Classes, so I wouldn't be able to commit. :(
ok going to try and get this going again tonight around 8pm gmt. so thats 4pm est 1pm pst
im still not sure if its twitch or yourtube, possible youtube so hopefully people will show. if you have any questions or preferences of skin let me know asap :)
Unfortunately, between Work and School, I'm going to miss the live feed. I'm hoping that this will stay up for a while though so I could watch it a few times.
As for which Character I'd like to suggest to see Skinned, DC Comics "Owlman", the one for Renegades Mesh. While I know it's been Skinned before, I think it covers most of what I want to learn about in regards to technique (Individual Faces, Extras, Capes, Etc.). This would also provide good examples of the usage of effects (Refl), and maybe even the Lightmap.
hmm owlmans an interesting choice he was planned but not this soon.
would any other night suit everyone. i havnt got as much work done as i thought i would today so i can always postpone. i keep asking to sadly this place has become so quiet recently
guess its off, guys. sadly not enough interest and ive not got s much work done as i needed to, to make the time available
I'm sorry TUE, the time zone difference is a bit of a problem for me, I'm GMT+9. :(

I was definitely sorry to see this, but I would definitely still be interested in seeing any more Speed Skinning Videos you may post, I definitely enjoy those.
to be honest guys its not an ego thing, if i work be it skinning, illustration or photos i tend to stick music on and go silent. which for a live stream or tutorial isnt a good thing. lol. o a chat would at least keep me chatting.
im still wanting to do it and tutorials but its getting subject matters and time
In all honesty, I'm the same way. When I bust out NifSkope or something, the Music goes on, my Mouth goes shut, and my Brain goes blank.
