Title: R.I.P. Neil Peart
Post by: OrWolvie1 on January 10, 2020, 10:00:35 PM
I'm at a total loss right now. Like  them or hate them, Rush had a profound impact on the music industry for the past 40 years, and my heart goes out to Alex, Geddy and Neil's family at this time of loss and grief. He was a accomplished musician, a wonderful father and some would say one of the greatest rock drummers of the last decade. His music, his lyrics and his legacy will endure the test of time and my heart is saddened beyond expression. A fundamental part of my childhood is gone, but never ever forgotten.  Rest in Peace, Neil. Thank you for the music.

I've said it elsewhere, and I'll say it here as well: Rush's song "Tom Sawyer" is sheer drumming perfection. Though its tied with "Distant Early Warning" as my favorite Rush song, I'll often listen to it just for Neil's drumwork at the end. Rush was not my favorite band, but Neil Peart was my favorite drummer.
