Title: ffx branding
Post by: bearded on April 29, 2022, 09:00:38 AM
For some reason, when I modify a character in ffedit, it disappears from the Control Center. I noticed that the 'complex' value of the disappeared character has the same number as another character. I think this is also keeping me from changing the voice ID.

I do have a saved game that the Center is scanning, with the right character in it.

Does that happen on one particular character or all characters?

Almost every character I change. I do have over 3000 characters.

When you say "almost" what is different about the characters that work? Do the characters that work have only standard attributes and not attributes added by ffx?

Good question, I'll check.

That's it. Something about ffx attributes is making the complex number go away. I went into the text file and tried to add it in manually (ffxID or something like that), but as soon as I load the Center, it rewrites the text without the addition. I've tried going into ffedit and adding complex with a new number, but that doesn't work, and I also noticed, some of the templates that do work don't even have complex.

Sounds like you might need to uninstall and reinstall ffx
