Title: Ghunt conversion
Post by: eluvium on August 30, 2022, 07:05:03 PM
is anyone familiar with the Great Hunt mod, I don't know who made it but, is there any interest in converting for the second game with updated meshes? I'd be doing it mysself if I knew how to script.

This would be really cool. Updating its meshes and skins wouldn't be hard, but the scripting might be another story.

yeah, even the original mod was somewhat unfinished if I call despite being one of the coolest golden age silver age crossovers made, maybe it can just be remade and the same premise is adapted

One of the very best mods made for both games, with certainly the best voice acting, including George Ledoux reprising his role as Minute Man! Shadoesword hasn't logged in since Dec 2010; you may still try to get in touch via the forum messaging, but I wouldn't expect him to get your message. If you can't contact him, personally I think adapting the mod to the new game is fine, as long as the original credits, etc. are preserved. That mod certainly deserves a larger audience.

Updating the scripting shouldn't be THAT much of an issue. For regular mission scripting (i.e., excluding Dr Mike's mods; some of his amazingly crazy stuff wasn't possible in FFvsTTR), I don't think there were many breaking changes. I suggest doing the FF mod making tutorial and then trying to get the first mission to work. You could post your script.log file errors here as needed, for some hive mind help.

I'll see what I can do, I'm not quite there yet, still working with hero files and correct paths, and some palette swapping, working my way up to nifskope
