Sorry to ask such a basic question, but I just got FF vs 3rd Reich and wanted to know if meshes and skins for 1 game can be used for the other, and if so, is installation the same?

Hey there, I'll be happy to answer your question.

Firstly, most meshes for the first Freedom Force game will actually work for :ffvstr: without a problem. However, there are some meshes that won't.. and for those, you can use the EZ Nif Converter. It converts the mesh so you can use it for the second game. You can find that here: http://www.alexff.com/goodies.php

And just for future reference, this specific forum is meant for skins. If you have questions about a mesh, you can try the Mesh forum or even the Freedom Force Discussion forum. It just helps other people find this information easier if the same question comes up again.

I hope that helps. :)

Skin files that have the .tga extension should work in either game. Skins that have a .dds extension probably won't work in plain old Freedom Force.

There are, of course, exceptions. Sometimes you can have several skin folders, all with skins ending in .tga, and one folder with a skin that has the .dds extension, and the only one that Freedom Force vs. The 3rd Reich will recognize is the .dds skin. There are converters out there to change the .tga files to .dds. I'm sorry, but I don't have the locations of them (but the archives probably have that).
