font creator?

anybody know where I can find a program for creating fonts?

I've been collecting comic book languages and such and making translation tools, but, while I've found a font for Kryptonian I've never been able to find some sort of software that doesn't cost a lot to make new fonts. See: http://marhawkman.deviantart.com/gallery/

AFAIK, since there are only a couple of options which won't cost too much*:
– TypeTool, a $100 basic product: http://www.fontlab.com/font-editor/typetool/
– FontForge, a Unix-flavoured open-source program: http://fontforge.sourceforge.net/

I don't know how good these programs are, though. Good luck into the wonderful world of fonts.

*The option which cost too much being FontLab, which is what most professional type designers use.


(Fun fact: the scripting language of choice for many font programs is Python, the same language used to script FF missions and add-ons.)
