conversion mod

i'm going to call it 'conversion mod'. it's when you take the ingame story and apply new characters to it. jfa2 is the first example, anyone remember that one?
the hard part is making the balance right, power level wise. i'm using yellowlantern's custom force x as a base, long ago he told me that was ok to do.
i've got a challenge for you. post an idea for a 'family' conversion mod. like superman family, batman, asgardians, inhumans, etc. the challenge is posting ideas for which character is replaced. who should replace mentor, or sea urchin, etc. and don't forget the bad guys! sukhov/nuclear winter is a tough one, by the way.
who knows? maybe someone will take the challenge and turn it into a conversion mod. i'm willing to make custom meshes for any mod made, with head files.

i'm doing the flash family. super fun to play. you have to keep alert in every level, in spite of your speed.

what about a bruce wayne? not batman family, every hero is a different version of wayne. manbot is dark knight armor, minute man is golden age, el diablo is lantern batman, bullet is speedforce batman.
or what about freedom toys? he man, tmnt, transformers.

I really like the Squadron idea. That's a pretty good list you got going, USAgent. The only thing I would switch is Microwave's equivalent to be Nuke, because of their radiation powers. And maybe have Skrullian Skymax as Mentor.

I like the idea of a villainous mutants fighting superheroes. I had to s  t  r  e  t  c  h the idea a little with some members, though, and I still couldn't complete it!

Now the conversion mods are strictly  , right? Is there a beginners guide for dummies floating around that would explain how to do this? Can this be done for  too? Sorry, I know absolutely nothing about modding.

you could totally do a conversion mod for   .
the first step is easy. simply find the folders with all the ingame characters and extract the mesh and skin into them. this will set up all the cutscenes.
then you can use ffedit to find all the characters powers and change them to appropriate powers with the right animations.
like, create a folder in library/characters named minuteman and place the hyperion skin and mesh in. all minuteman appearances will be hyperion.
after changing the meshes and  fixing all the powers you can create a hyperion character and recruit him instead of minuteman, but this isn't even necessary.
there are many things you can do from there, but this is the base start, and a blast to play.

i tell you what, after i finish with my flash project, i will help with the squad supreme. i was thinking of jli giffin, but i'm a big squad fan also. totally can do for the  version. we'll have to make some new meshes and skins.
