So...I accidentally copied over my language files for the Project Superpowers mod with the files from a different project....I think that the dat.bak's I've managed to recover have a previous version of these files, but I'm not really sure what to do with them.  I can replace the dats, but how will I get the editable txt files back?  Please help guys!  I'm mildly panicked that quite a bit of work just disappeared.

Is this an EZ Script mod? If so, you can at least get your captions back from your mission.txt files. Dunno about the strings or speech, though.

I think it's gonna' be okay.  I found an older copy of the strings.txt hidden away, and I can regenerate the captions.  Fortunately I hadn't done any custom voices yet.

Get hold of SVN to prevent this from happening in the future. I knwo the sense of panic when you think you've destroyed work like this, and its not fun.

SVN's a free version control system that lets you check your work into a central repository on your computer, diff scripts with previous versions, and so on. Its a great habit to get into, and its totally free.
