Character Tool 2 Problem...

Hi Freedom Folks,

Maybe somebody can help me with this...Character Tool 2 has stopped working on my computer. It was fine up until a few days ago, but now I get an error message that says, "Renderer Creation Failed! Directx 8 or higher is required for Character Tool to run.", then it crashes. I supposedly have DirectX 10 with Windows Vista. I even tried downloading and installing Directx again and I still get the error.

Does anybody have an idea what may be wrong? I appreciate any suggestions.

Nevermind, peeps...I reinstalled and now CT works again...Weird.

I never had Ctool2 working on my vista laptop.
Before and now after getting back into ffvttr.

I always just used ctool for ff1 and just to take screenshots for char portraits. (Think thats what I did with it)

So afraid I cant help but, and I never really understood the usage for ctool, but if ctool1 loads the ffvttr nifs cant that be used?

CTool is very useful when you're making skins for characters.

For some reason, it's working again...I hate my computer.

Is there any difference between the 2 CTools though? As I said I'm sure I used to use the first even for3rd reich nifs...I'll have to double check my newbness later though to confirm.

you definitely did not use the first for 3rd reich nifs. IIRC, it doesn't even detect the newer nifs. Ctool2 is updated for FFvTTR.

Yea well I figured as much, although whatever I did use was vista friendly and displayed a few chars I used in 3rd reich.

Thank you Lunarkys, Some days it works and some days it gives me the error and crashes....As I said, I hate my computer.
