Most people wont know this but I used to skin... and I made it my mission to skin a lot of the forum members who did not have avatars, especially those involved with Liberty Bay. Either way here is a small gallery of skins I did over the years... some old members, some new and some fairly obscure awesome contributors.

Also I invite people to start up some avatar galleries, it is as good a time as any.

CatWhoWalksByHimself

My idea was Vampire Hunter D meets Puss N' Boots... mysterious, mystical and dangerous. Clint Eastwood from fairytale land.

Gremlin

I wanted something both fantasy and modern, like a storybook creature you might run into in some alternate New York.

Kkhohoho

Our freaky, holiday themed madman. I'm not sure if my avatar is that far away from his forum personality.

Alphanaut

I always loved his name, it was like something out of a grant morrison comic. I decided to make him look like an alien explorer, like something that would have descended on the Mayans or Egyptians in some alternate past.

Dr. Mike

There have been lots of crazy skinners, but he was the master modder. Not only did he create a ton of powers, but he created The Strangers who where arguably as good or better than Freedom Force. For his avatar I created X2, a reality warping satelite that gains sentience and gives itself a body. It is kind of like a high tech Beyonder or Silver Surfer... philosopher and demigod.

Benton Gray

Before Benton (one of the biggest posters these days) came out of the closet as Aquamans #1 fan, I pictured him as this awesome pulp hero with porcelain alloy armor (that rebuilds itself) and guns with gel, gas and rubber bullets. James Bond meets The Spirit.

Housequake

I'm saving some of the most famous for last, to not seem cliche, and they dont get much more famous than Housequake. I decided to give him a really modern looking costume, but unfortunately that is a super low res skin.

Alley Cat

Back before Jessica Alba was famous (all she had done was Dark Angel) I considered her my inspiration for the forum poster Alley Cat. This tough, streetwise, genetically engineered feline crime fighter. For some reason I gave her a latina tone, which I think suits her.

Outcast

These are really nice tributes Lugaru. Pretty cool designs.

detourne_me

Great stuff Lugaru!
After seeing some of the old-timers posting here it's nice to bring back some memories from some of the "2nd generation FR'ers"

Epimethee

Particularly enjoying your portrayal of Cat and Benton.

Thanks guys! Never quite had the patience (or talent) but skinning is still fun.

Hmm... I consider myself 2nd generation as far as forums go since I did not recgonize most people in the first forum mod. I did make skins and stuff but they where on this site where anyone could post 'em (like the NEXUS mod sites) and it was taken down.

Most of the people listed there contributed scripting, characters, skins or whatnot to liberty bay.

BTW I tried doing a detourne_me once, and gave up, was just not satisfied with how it was coming out.

UnkoMan

I always loved that Alphanaut design.

And I don't remember that Benton design, but it's pretty cool. Give me an idea to combine it with the aquaman ripoff I did for him. Hmmm...

Anyhow, you're great, lug!

BentonGrey

Hey!  I had forgotten about that design, but it is quite awesome.  As a matter of fact, this is a great set of skins.  I especially like the Kk design with the leg!  Ha!

Silver Shocker

Those are pretty cool. I especially like the Alphanaut and Benton ones.
