Used to be the Mysticks.

Never heard of them? Local bush league ice hockey team. Yes, ice hockey in Mobile Alabama, where the Bay last froze over in something like 1911.

Mr. Hamrick

Despite having an Atlanta based team in the Thrashers, I generally pull for either The Calgary Flames (due to a few Calgary natives who I am good friends with) though I use to pull for The Penguins.

There is a local team here that is not NHL called The Gwinett Gladiators that I think is a farm league to The Thrashers too that is pretty cool.

Well, being from the Ottawa area, despite my team's terrible year, I'm still a Sens fan.  They were afterall, the first NHL team I ever saw live.  And they're way better than the Leafs.  Stupid Leafs.

And Calgary's not a bad choice for an Atlanta based fan, after all, before they were the Calgary Flames, they were the Atlanta Flames.

Blue Jackets.

I don't go that far back with my hockey fandom.  I do remember an IHL team called The Atlanta Knights several years ago.  They had a female goalie named Manon Rheaume who as I recall didn't do that well for them in the two games she played for them.  They also had Brent Gretzky who played three seasons with them.

Hope the habs hang on to their playoff spot.

Blue Jackets look like they might make it this year.

I used to live in Edmonton so I was told that I have to hate the flames. It'd be nice to see a battle of Alberta playoff this year.

I had the privilege of growing up watching the Oilers dominate the NHL in the 80s.  There was nothing quite like watching Gretzsky, Kurri, Messier, Anderson, Lowe, Coffey, Fuhr and all those other greats on one team.  Since then, Edmonton would still have to be my team, although I appreciate the other Canadian teams as well.  We've gotta hang in there!

The Hitman

Blue Jackets always look like they're gonna make it. But, I will say that they're closer this year than any other year.

Sadly with their inconsistent play...they'll probably keep falling...ending up around 9 or 10 in the conference. I'm not expecting to see much (if any) post season play from my Habs this year. :(
