something i've been thinking about do you keep your old skins, i'm clearing out a lot of meshes that i never use to free up a gig or 2 on my laptop and i've noticed i still have a lot of my old skins, hell i'm talking dragon force old here

so do you keep your old skins around or if update something do you bin the old

I didn't used to keep them. I would delete my PSD file as soon as I felt it was finished. I also tended to flatten layers a lot. Now I still flatten probably too many, but I do keep them. I forget when it started, but there was a point when I was like "wouldn't it be easier to steal old pieces from skins?" and that's when I started keeping them. I still rarely steal the old pieces unless I am filling an easy request though.

But, yeah. I've got quite a few saved.

I save everything.

I do a search for all the .psd files and burn them to a CD (with the path saved), then delete them from my hard drive.

...which remind me, that's something I need to do soon.

If I do a new version of an old skin, it will also be burned to a CD and deleted.

Like Yellow Lantern, I also save everybody else's skins.

Outcast

I like to collect all kinds of skins. Old and new. But of course, if i really need more hard drive space i delete some of the old. But not before backing them up in another hard drive. :P :)

No.

Oh, Ant, Ant, Ant... that is such a shame. I have sketchbooks of stuff I did years and years ago. It keeps me centered so that I know how good (or bad) I was and how much better I am now, beyond serving as inspiration for other stuff.

The Nemesis

I don't skin, but in all the folders for the models I've collected, I usually have old skins in them, used way back in the  :ff: days.
256x256, very basic looking (most of em).
I don't use em in-game but I like to keep em to remember how far the community has come with this talent.
It actually amazes me that back then my brother and I thought it couldn't get much better, and look at the skins that are made now, haha.

The Enigma

I've got all the skins I ever made (all three of them). It's a bit sad, perhaps, but I feel vaguely proud of my "achievements".
The Enigma skin by Juancho, thanks Jay. Fate skin by Kitt Basher, thanks Kitt. Microhero by Reepicheep, thanks Reep. Fate smiley by Paradox. RIP dude.

Zivon23

I used to keep everything.....til my puter crashed on Wednesday......now....not so much(cause I have nothing to save)

steamteck

I don't skin but I have 5 backup cds of old skins.

Tomato

depends what you mean by "keep." I don't intentionally keep track of my old work, but I often will just copy over my character folders when I swap computers, since relatively speaking a few ff folders don't impact anything and I don't download stuff that often from other sources.

that said though, I might only have a few skins left over from before I made my first base skin... my old portable drive finally died, and I know I lost my old avatar skins/meshes.

The Hitman

I've kept all the finished skins I've done, susally toss the .PSPs.
