After you guys recommendations, I got marvel Ultimate Alliance for my PC and am loving it.  However I have a problem. I can play the rest of the game easily om normal , in fact that's where it seems the most fun but... I simply cannot get past the quicktime events, Kraken , disarming bombs for Cap etc. ( and just flippin barely there ) on easy.  Is there any way to adjust the difficulty of a saved game or just skip the  evil minigames

Except for the evil minigames I am really enjoying it.

Glitch Girl

Sadly, I doubt it.  Difficulty setting doesn't seem to have any effect on the Quicktime events and there's not getting around them in boss fights and whatnot.

QTE are stupid and they usually don't work, which makes them stupid.

I don't hate the press the right button ones (like playing Simon) near as much as the rapid-tap X to not die. That not only isn't fun at all and is frustrating, but the only method that helps for me involves tensing up my arm muscles to violently shake my hand on the button which quickly leaves my whole arm in pain. A failure on the developers part for certain.
I apologize in advance for everything I say on here. I regret it immediately after clicking post.

QTE are terrible, and they and their proponents should be scoured from the earth.  Just sayin'.

if i may: i had a lot of trouble with the bombs and kraken too, until i changed the setting of the keyboard
just put an alternate key for <-4 and 6-> closer to the spacebar and F, then it's just a matter of practice
also: "spacebar" always top-center of the screen, "F" appears left, bottom left for <-4 and and bottom right for 6-> (that way you can think faster, just look at the middle of the screen, you don't have to look at every poping window, just stay focuse aon the center and depending on where the window appear you know what you have to press, no need to read it)
i hope it helped a little, but MUA has the worse QTE ever (i'm a big God of War fan, and QTE can be so much fun if done right...but MUA failed miserably on this point)

Oh well, I son told me there were fewer numbers to punch for the Kraken on easy. Thanks for the tips

My son can get through the Kraken and so far the only other thing that's defeated me is the Captain America simulation. I get the 1st bomb easily but the 2nd one just seems to go on forever  until I finally screw up.  None of my kids can get past that one either. I just finished Murderworld and am really loving the rest of the game.

Once I'm done  with it a few times, on too Tommyboy's mods!!

I don't think I completed any of the mini missions...That Cap mission is too hard.

IIRC, the four characters you start with (Thor, Wolverine, Cap, and spider-man) have the most complicated of the minimissions  (spider-man: protect the hostage AND quicktime events?  suck suck suck suck suck!)  Cap's is hard, but not impossible if you just focus on resetting the consoles and just getting your hits on Winter Soldier when you can.  Don't bother with an all out fight until he's almost dead.  I recall Thor's was easy, except there was some kind of twist to the boss fight (like you had to do something before you could hit him, can't remember what)

Most of the others are a straight forward fight or have one extra element, like a "protect ___" (who's usually immobile).  Storm has a quicktime event involving "pound hte button for all your worth" that was a real pain as I recall.  Still, many of them (especially the team missions) are just "go in, defeat the minions, defeat the boss, end".

Interesting bug: on the PS2 version, if you had more than one controller active (didn't matter if they weren't playing the solo mission or not), the bosses would just stand there and not attack on the minimissions.  The downside was, you didn't get credit for the run.  :(

With Thor you fought Kurse and you had to soften  him up with a iron hammer first. -- got that no problem  Wolverine-- stop Warstar from destroying the bases power system -- no problem. Haven't tried Spider-man's yet. Cap Ive gotten very good at killing the bad guys in the first  two rooms and defusing the first bomb. The 2nd bomb quicktime event  NEVER seems to end. I swear I've gone through at least a dozen numbers and it doesn't end.
Most of the others are straightforward normal gameplay which I really really like. In the main game I'm in Niffleheim with my most advanced group. As usual for me I'm playing trough with several groups.

Well, I just spent 2 hours trying to kill Ymir. Its just not happening. Maybe I can get my son to do . He's gotten past him before. Blast really frustrating. If it weren't so much fun otherwise it would ruin it. As it is I have to get someone else get me through the QTE.

Are Xmen legends games similar with less QTE?  I prefer the MUA characters but being completely stuck on certain bosses is frustrating.  I understand with Galactus  its the same thing.

Talavar

I don't think the XML games have any quicktime events, though it's been awhile since I've played them.  Lets hope MUA2 doesn't have them either (though it probably will).

Glitch Girl

No quicktime events in XML nor XML2.

Good to know about the Xmen games. Do they have the same type of powers and combos set up? I have a really hard time finding games I like but when I like them , I really like them. If they are that similar,  well...my income just took a major turn upward  ( good after a downward spiral lately) so It may be time  to celebrate with the Xmen.

BTW, My 11 year old son just got me past Ymir he had no trouble but even he can't do the captain America mini mission.

XL2 and MUA are very VERY similar.

- Combat controls are basically identically laid out.
- Advancement in XL2 is more detailed: you can control your stat advancement as well as your power advancement; however you cannot respec whenever you feel like it - doing so costs money so don't be careful until you've unlocked most of the cool stuff (around l28)  Flight and Might are not automatic stats and must be paid for in points (don't buy more than 1 point of flight, it's all you'll need, max out Might though)
- Only a few characters with the "Might" stat can throw enemies in XL2 unlike MUA.
-  There are more "supermoves" (the ones that require some kind of chargeed meter) in XL2 but not all of them are combat related. A few increase item/money drops, others produce an additional ally (not worth it), while others produce team wide buffs (ex: Storm's "Will of the Goddess" makes the team and allies invincible and is almost vital for one of the Dangerroom bonus missions)  These supermoves are powered by picking up special drops as opposed to building up a meter by combat.  They also go off individually as opposed to one person firing one off and the whole group uses theirs as well.
- Hand to hand combos are almost identical.  I think MUA has a few more, but not noticibly so.
- Gear is almost overkill in XL2 - each character gets three slots and it's generated in an almost Diablo-like system (prefix-item-sufix) as opposed to MUA where each character gets 1 slot and most gear is preset.
