Patriot City (Free-Roam) + EZScript?

Could the two be combined in some way to make an awesome hybrid?

I know I need to start off slow, with a few EZscript skirmishes and minimods, but I was wondering if it's possible to add EZScript into Dr. Mike's free-roaming script.

Yes. In fact, IIRC, M25 prototyped EZScript using the Patriot City engine with his Firelight mod. (Was the mod ever officially released?)

I suggest you check the FFX manual's EZScript's User Guide page: it has a section about setting it with freeroam (i.e., Patriot City).

OK, Thanks Epimethee. Now I know what i'd like to do is attainable, it's time for me to take the baby steps needed to do it.
All the fine modders out there have inspired me to get off my lazy butt....finally.

Did anyone ever manage to track down and fix the save game crash bug with Patriot City?

I remember getting some save games off people that would crash the mod, even if the corrrect map was already coipied into the folder, ie the one that was present when the save game was made.

Awesome DM!  Although I don't have any real experience with the Freeroam stuff, I'd be happy to provide whatever assistance I can with EZScript itself.  Also, as always, feel free to chop up and use any of my mission or base scripts in any way you like.

The saved game issue:  FFvTTR requires a certain number of missions be present in the campaign file or it will sometimes crash.  Not sure if that was the issue with Patriot City.

Oops. Looks I was a wee bit confused (but what's new here?); thanks for clearing this up and releasing the files, M25.

As for the PC saved game issues, I believe IIRC (warning: this unit uses faulty memory banks; cf. previous paragrap%20h#$%?!EOF) the cause was supposed to be loading a save game from a map larger than the current one.
