House Quake

The new version of Star Trek Voyager looks interesting  :P

GhostMachine

Yeah. I'm not too thrilled that it does sound a LOT like Voyager, so I'm with you on that, Quake.

Frankly, if not for Lou Diamond Phillips, Robert Carlyle and Ming Na being in it, I wouldn't care about it at all. (Though I'd prefer Robert Carlyle being on Doctor Who instead....as the Doctor!)

Is Carlyle British? If not then he's automatically excluded from being the Doctor.

I kinda like the premise. expanding on some of the nagging questions that the show had.

One could argue on that bases that Atlantis was Voyage.  Same, thing, crew getting stranded far from home unable to return, at least for the first season.  There were even technically on a starship, even if it didn't have enough power to go anywhere.

Only the most basic concept is voyager.  I am sure they will put there own spin on it.  The other three series these guys have done that I am aware of is outstanding, so I expect this will be worth watching too.

Lost in Space, Space:1999, Star Trek: Voyager and now possibly this series all use the same basic concept of being stranded far from home and unable to return.

Wait... How do they end up stranded in SGU?

catwhowalksbyhimself

The base they are on is attacked.  The only way out is through the stargate, which is open to an automated stargate-placing starship far, far away.  They have no control over the ship, nor any idea where they actually are.

Is the new series any good? Haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I'm liking it although I get the feeling McKay or Carter would have fixed the ship by now  :P

I said the exact same thing to my wife.

We are watching and I am trying to give SGU (or Stargate University, as the Mrs. calls it) a chance, but it seems to be a bit slow in getting things rolling.

Also I thought the first episode had too many timelines going at once, it was done well enough to keep me into the plot.  The characters are a bit too simplistic for my taste.  As others have stated, Robert Carlyle's character is pretty good, but the rest are so transparent.
If for any reason you're not satisfied with our service, I hate you

I'm caught up. Soo... if they have those stones aboard, why don't they have McKay and Carter use them.  :o

That's what I'm screamin'!  Or at least Daniel, so they can get everthing translated properly, without any attitude.

Ares_God_of_War

The show isnt all that exciting for me currently. I hope the whole season isnt "whats wrong with the ship now?" type episodes
"That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange eons even death may die."
