Howdy guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm going to be out of touch for the next little bit.  We're having major computer troubles.  In fact, we've BEEN having major computer troubles, but things came to a head this weekend.  Don't worry, everything is backed up!

I hope everything is going to be okay, BG....I was pretty in the same boat, as I recently had to have my whole C drive wiped (due to a virus) and I'm currently re-building/re-installing (I had almost everything backed up, thankfully).  I did lose a lot of stuff, though (some recent map projects, some Skope projects, etc...).

So I share your pain.

Thanks guys, sorry to hear that Dana!  Yeah, it is a REAL pain.  I can't even begin reinstalling things until we get internet back at the house (long story), but suffice to say that things are chaotic in Grey's corner of the world at the moment.  This is something of a heads up to anyone and everyone I was working on a project with (especially you Prev.): I'm out of the game for the next few weeks.  Between computer troubles, end of the semester issues, and illness, I don't see things settling down until after Christmas.  On top of that, a very good friend of mine who has been battling cancer has gotten some bad news, so all of my plans are sorta' hanging in limbo until he figures out what he wants to do.  I really want to be able to see him over Christmas break, so that comes first.  Anyways, my apologies of you were waiting on me to do something, but its going to be a longer wait than I had anticipated.

Alright, I now have internet at the house once again, and the painfully slow process of restoring my computer has begun.  I imagine it will be after Christmas before I get my FF stuff restored.

I always found a certain refreshing feeling having to wipe a computer and start from scratch. I always feel like I get a couple of months of optimum organization and efficiency that comes form a do over... before I start downloading stupid stuff and clutter it up again

Hehe, yeah, I feel pretty much the same.  I was actually just telling my wife today that my desktop was pristine, and we can't clutter it up.

Okay...my fingers are crossed.  I've installed a new heatsink (these types of operations always terrify me), and it seems to be doing the trick.  I'm going to test it out now, but I do believe that I'm back in business!

Scratch that.  I apparently have managed to make things worse.  My computer won't boot up at all now.  It's officially time to let the professionals handle this.  I'm taking it to a computer shop today.
