A Few Questions?

Hi, I have some problems...

1) FFEDIT problem... I am told very often to use FFEDIT to change and edit certain things in Freedom Force... However, there is nothing I can edit with this thing... its just to load up the game's hero files and make character's AI work correct... I'm speaking about Freedom Force Vs. The 3rd Reich... where exactly is it I go to do the editing? Like... making new attributes?

2) Has anyone else had this problem...  if you have more than one of the same hero... they mimic each other's actions? If one is fighting and is knocked on the ground... the other who wasn't even fighting will go to the ground, too... or if one is shooting... the other will be shooting... even though the other will be shooting at nothing and maybe not even actually shooting...?

3) Meh... I'm sleepy... forgot what the third was... maybe I'll edit when I remember.

Thanks, bye.

1) Sounds like you're confusing the FFX Control Centre (which comes with the unofficial FFX add-on) with FFEdit (which comes with the official Mod Tools here: http://www.freedomfans.com/ffvttr/downloads.php )

2) Yup, this is a known issue. It's a problem with meshes from the original FF being converted to 3rd Reich. The easy workaround is to go into your video options and turn off shadows. There's a better, but more complicated fix, which is explained here: http://frp.unlimited2.net/ghosting-mesh-tutorial/

1) Yes. I am stupid. Thanks.

2) Checking that out, now. Thanks.

3) Remembered the third question... I've been reading up on it... this problem is with FFX's watch mode. I have both FFX 3.3 and then the FFX 3.2 Map Pack... because it has a lot of maps that FFX doesn't... but FFX 3.2 map pack doesn't have some of the attributes that FFX 3.3 has.  <_<

But this is the problem with it... I use either or to watch fights with the heroes/villains I make. However, if I make the heroes/villains and go straight to Watch Mode, they'll move toward the opposing heroes/villains but won't throw a punch... They will however, pick up items and throw those... ARGH! If I load them up first in the AI Generator and then Watch Mode, they will not run toward each other, just stand where ever they start... but if I manually move on of them in the area of the opposing heroes/villains, then the opposing heroes/villains do fight... but not the hero/villain I manually moved... ARGH!

I've tried loading up the FFEDIT Control Centre and saving before launching the game. From what I've read around other sites and here, that fixes some of the complications that happen with FFX's Watch Mode...

EDIT: I did some more reading... umm... could it be maybe the problem is being caused by FFX 3.3 and FFX Map Pack 3.2 installed?

In order for Watch Mode to work the way you want, you have to choose the "-------------" character on the first selection screen. Then go to the second selection screen and choose the heroes/villains you want to fight each other. Let's say you want Batman to fight Captain America. First, choose Batman (it doesn't matter which one you choose first), then choose the "-------------" character to separate them. Finally, choose Captain America. Enter the Rumble Room and you're good to go. The  "-------------" character is moveable and is where the camera will be positioned. Depending on where the heroes spawn, you may have to scan your map to find them. They don't always show up in camera range.
Choosing your conflicting heroes all on the second screen enables you to make group matches involving teams of more than 4 members. There are 24(?) slots (anyone feel free to correct me on this, haven't played in a bit). So, you can populate up to 23 heroes, leaving one slot for the "-------------" character.
Remember that the M25AI Generator will only work on a character after the corresponding hero file is "branded" by the FFX Control Center. You actually don't even have to save in the FFXCC to brand the hero files (obviously, if you customize a file in the Control Center, then you'll need to save it). When you open the Control Center, you see "scanning (hero name)...." at the bottom. That's, pretty  much, the branding going on. I pretty much exclusively use the Watch Mode, though it's been a little while, so let me know if you have any more questions.

Yes, the second selection is 24. You are correct. I understand the first part... and the second I get... but its that the characters I create aren't moving in to fight their opponents. I reinstalled the game and FFX. I used in game characters to test watch mode and it worked perfectly... then I created characters that would move toward each other but wouldn't fight. I hadn't did the AI Generator... I went and did the AI Generator and now, they just stand where ever they are when the match begins.

MODIFY:

FFX Watch Mode does not work correctly...

Characters taken into Watch Mode that have not been taken into the A.I. Generator beforehand will move toward opposing characters but will not make attacks against them.

Characters taken into Watch Mode that have been taken into the A.I. Generator beforehand will not move toward opposing characters but will make attacks against them.

NOTE: I MANUALLY move the character near the opposing character and that is when the opposing character makes attacks.

I've tried re-installing the game. I've tried re-installing the FFX Mod. I've tried entering Watch Mode with characters who have been through the A.I. Generator and characters who have not been through the A.I. Generator... in which case I will get the correponding results up above.

I've worked with FFX a couple of times, but this is the first time I've run into such a problem. With previous installations, its worked without any complications.

It seems like something has happened with the A.I. Generator that is causing characters not to move toward opposing characters on their own intiative. If the characters are MANUALLY moved toward the opposing characters, they'll act according to how FFX has made them act before, fighting, using powers, manuevering, etc...

I see other topics on the board and on other boards with problems with characters not moving or fighting, but not like this... and either they have no answer or the answers that solved the problem but not this one! ! !
