I downloaded the latest Nifskope on a Windows 7/64 Bit system and when I open something up, it's fine.

The problem is when I click on another nif file, it won't open. It seems that I can only keep one window open at a time.

Has anyone faced this problem before and maybe have a fix? I tried a search but I don't think I worded it correctly.

Sounds like your firewall settings are too restrictive. It is Windows7 after all, and hence Bill's computer.

Multiple sessions of NifSkope communicate with each other on what's called 'the Loopback Device' It's a software network card, used to communicate with itself. This is why you can have many NifSkope sessions open and cut and paste between them.

To fix this, you need to tell the O/S and/or firewall that it is perfectly OK for your machine, or NifSkope.exe, to communicate on the loopback device (possibly ip address 127.0.0.1).

Google is your friend on how to do this, but it very much depends on any firewall software you are using.

Thanks so much for the information. I'm inclined to agree with your reasoning because the Nifskope icon has a symbol for the UAC attached to it, not allowing immediate permission. I'm going to have a genuine crack at this soon and see if I can get it going.

You can turn off your UAC to make it easier on yourself. Here's how:

1. Open the "Computer" shortcut on your desktop

2. You'll see a little blue ? mark button in the top right corner of the screen. Click it.

3. A dialog box will come up. Type "Disable User Control" in the search box up at the top. Press Enter once typed.

4. Click on "2. How do I change the behavior of User Account Control by using the slider?"

5. Follow the instructions at the bottom of the page. Once you do that, you can play the mod (you may want to reinstall it though)

Thanks for the input, Spyder!

I tried that and it didn't work, though. I'll keep trying and see what happens.
