Amazo Version 2.2

i have someone who is making a  skope for me for a  custum character that i am planning on skinning. my question is, alot of base skins dont have a crotch area, which makes the skins look kind of off (please noone take offense), is there a way, a tutorial maybe, that will help me edit that area? or is there a existing base that has already dealt with that? mind you, the only skins i have tried so far are for the microwave and supercollider meshes, so this hasnt been an issue ive had to deal with yet.
For anyone, and everyone, who has ever done anything to improve the FF/FFvs3R gaming experience, I want to say thank you. Life is so short, and you have all brought me so much joy. I hope that one day, I am somehow able to return the kindness and generosity that all of you have shown.

Both the male_basic and female_basic based skins do have crotches, but that area is often more complicated to skin as that's where the edges of the skin meet, and the curvature of the mesh in that part of the anatomy, all combine to make skinning that area more difficult.

However, I kind of suspect that some of the problems you're seeing have to do with the mesh physique, not the skin.   Specifically, the fact that (with rare exception) Freedom Force meshes based on male anatomy have all the male anatomy of a Ken doll.   The bulge that reasonably should be present on an adult male, in front, below the waist, when wearing skin tight clothing, is missing.

I have not seen a base skin that really addresses this in any way.

Hmmm... you might check out Tommy's Dr. Manhattan mesh, since the skin is in many ways a base skin, and then there is the... extra bit that is hidden unless you have unhidden it on your mesh.

But Kenn is right, the crotch of all the meshes are difficult. So are the derrierre's, for that matter.

oooor you could just DL Male_Basic_TM from New power inc, which includes a "fixed" version of c6's old base skin.

I was going to suggest the same thing.

My apologies Tomato; that is the best suggestion yet.

I think the best suggestion is to skin it on yourself! Just the lump of the crotch area right? It's easy, and you'll get practice on skinning your own pieces, rather than just recolouring things. Yay!

What program are you going to use? I'll assume you've got layers down. Make sure to have a layer where you have a map overlaid above everything. Then you start a layer above your background and do a midtone in the right sort of shape, and blur the edges on that, and then a layer above that with a highlight colour around the centre (what I usually do for crotches, assuming the lighting is in front and slightly above) and you blur that some. Then I tend to merge those to get the levels right and...

Wait, I don't think I am explaining this very well am I? Somebody could probably do it better than me. Uh, do download that other skin though, so you can see what you want it to look like in the end.

I'll just... I'll just be over there. *walks away*

Sorry buddy, you're skoper is a bit behind schedule at the moment. I'll re-do the skope onto one of Tomato's meshes so that you can take advantage of it's base skin. Barring any problems, I should have it to you by Monday. Again, sorry for the delay.

Edit:

Did I forget anything?
