In Need of Help!

Could anyone help me out by giving me a crash course in logo design? I am building a website and am getting royally frustrated with the logo. If anyone can give me some pointers (or take 20 min and fix what I have done to make it, y'know, NOT SUCK), it would be greatly appreciated, and I may be able to work out some other kind of compensation (probably not monetary, but who knows). Thanks all!

It is supposed to be a pizza with aviator sunglasses. Pepperoni has not been added yet, and the colors are not correct either.

EDIT #2: In a brief stroke of creativity, I remembered some of the stuff I learned in one an old digital design class and did away with the thick black outlines. Pic has been changed.

YOu should talk to Murs about this. He makes logos all the time, so he might have a ton of good advice for you.

I hope this helps. If not, that's ok. I only spend a few minutes on it. If I had more time this evening I would vectorize it in Illustrator for you. If you have Illustrator, I'd recommend tracing over this with the pen tool. Pen tool in Photoshop works too but it's less flexible.

It would help if you could provide some more details about the site/logo/business if possible, such as the approximate ages of the intended audience, whether or not this is for a type of product or just for a restaurant facade/etc, and even the name if that's not a problem.

It is for a geek/pop culture news and review site a few friends and I are starting. The site is called the Pizza Xtreme Team (www.pizzaxtremeteam.com) (don't go there yet, nothing's ready). It's kind of a weird name for a site, but we're trying to make the best of it.

Pizza extreme team......i would imagine the logo would show more....craziness/craving for pizza....(just an idea) .

The pizza with the shades logo also looks good, i'm getting this "we are the pizza experts" vibe from it.
