SHORT TIMED ACTIVE DEFENSE?(for like a sec.Can it happen??)

Is it possible for an active defense power to only last a SECOND?Also.. is it possible to put like a damage boundary to the amount of damage the current defense can take?The idea behind this is the simulation of blocking an attack  in a way that a street level hero can block out some punches (or a knife maybe?) with his hands-only for the time the current animation plays- (using a low energy cost active def),but not if those punches come from metas..

In regard to your damage boundary question, do you have any experience with the FFX mod? Besides the plethora of additional attributes and state swaps, one of the new attributes it offers is FF Active Defense. It has four levels of Hit Points (10, 15, 25, and 50), where once the hit points are exceeded, the defense disappears. I believe the FF AD is only available for  :ffvstr:, but if you don't already have FFX, it can be found here: http://ffx.freedomforceforever.com/
