This is a pretty cool idea and story.  DC comics teamed up with a hospital treating kids with leukemia to make the whole process of chemotherapy a bit less scarey.  The threatment bags got new superhero themed covers and is now referred to as "superformula", comic books were made, and a good bit of the ward was redecorated to look like the Hall of Justice.  Really neat idea.

That is an amazing idea.  Kudos to whoever came up with it.

I can't speak for the children's ward, but the adult's infusion therapy area is dull, dull, dull.  It could use some spicing up even with just those IV cases.

I may be the lone voice against this on these forums.  I don't think of Chemotherapy as a "Superformula".  However, I as a comics fan I find the designs totally awesome!

Dude, you're missing the point. It isn't about actually selling chemotherapy as a super-drug, it's about finding a way to get kids to take their medication (in essence, anyway). We're talking about a procedure that involves getting stuck with a needle, and as someone in the business of sticking people, ANYTHING you can do to distract children from that is a good thing.

I think that this is an awesome thing being done for these kids. It would be great to see more of this being done.

Man, what a fantastic idea!  That is wonderful.  I hope it brings some happiness to those kids.

I read about this yesterday, and I know when I was going through chemo as a kid this would have made my day. I may not be such a fan of DC Comics, but their marketing/publicity team are really awesome.

I didn't know you went through chemo as a kid, AA.  I'm glad you're here.

It's a chemical that can, potentially cure, or at least slow down, an otherwise fatal condition.  "Superformula" is not an inaccurate description.  It's also a much easier way of explaining to kids what they are going through and why they have to do it.  These kids don't fully understand what is happening to them and are scared.  Anything we can do to help them understand and lessen their fears is a good thing.

I think the "superformula" concept is great, anything to make the medication easier to take and less scary for kids is awesome.
