So, after getting my hands on a the Male-Belt mesh with a little help, I booted it up, only to see nothing but a giant cube with an X on all sides when I tried to load the mesh. I then quit the game, converted the mesh to  :ffvstr:, and loaded it up in the Character Tool. There, it says that it can't even load the mesh. I then reinstalled the mesh and didn't convert it this time, and when I reloaded it, I got the same response. I've tried to think of ways to deal with this, but I really don't know what to do here. Help?

Showing up as a cube usually means that the game can't find the character.nif. Double check to make sure the folders are set up correctly (i.e., the nif is in the Male_Belt folder, and not in a sub-folder).

Are you pulling the mesh directly from :ff:?  The thing is, those meshes don't convert too well.

What I recommend is going to this site (http://www.freedomfans.com/modforce/meshes.php) and downloading the "Custom Meshes" pack (at the bottom).  Those ones play nice with EZNifConvert.

I just downloaded it; turns out that the Male Basic folder doesn't come with a nif. Or rather, it comes with a headnif, but not a regular old nif.

The problem appears to be with the keyframes for the male_belt mesh. An error message pops up that appears too quickly to read in EZNif Convert when converting the mesh. So, I tried converting just the mesh and it is viewable in CTool. Of course, you'll have to find some keyframes for the mesh now. Any male_basic compatible keyframes will work.

Keep in mind, that if you want to see if the new conversion was successful, you'll have to delete the keyframes or rename it to something else so that the game or CTool won't try to read it.

I did exactly what you said. Instead, I get the same message I've kept getting: 'Cannot load mesh for: male_belt'. And as I said, this is the same message I always get for this mesh, converted or not. Deleting the keyframes before conversion didn't really seem to change that.

Have you tried the "Male_Belt_Muscular69" by Bobby69? It's mapped the same as "Male_Belt", so it will take the same Skins. I've got a converted, working version if you want it.

Sure; just send it over. Thanks. :)

At Alex's Freedom Fortress there are some Male Flatbelt meshes in Kenn X's stuff.
