Not sure if this is the right place to put this or not, so feel free to move this post to wherever it belongs.

I know we have "Blender", but I was wondering what other FREE 3D Modeling programs are out there? Basically, I'm not worrying about animating, rigging, etc., I just want to eventually try and learn how to create "Static" Mesh pieces (For Maps, FX, stuff like that).

Any and all input would be really appreciated, thank you.

I don't know if it's still around, but a stripped down version of 3DS MAX called GMAX used to be available for free.  It allowed 3D modeling and IIRC, allowed exporting as obj or 3ds format.

Cool, thanks WyldFyre, I had thought I remembered there being another program floating around.
