Flying with jets

I am skoping CHANCE from Spiderman.
And then, I used the jets from Starlords from Hoss and I transfered the nods (jets) and also the bips to the mesh I am working with (nightwing will be my chance)

Then, I used m25keyframetransfer and I transfered the fly movement from Starlord to my mesh.

But, when I go to the rumble room and try tell my altered mesh (chance) to fly, it flyes but the smoke effect from Starlord mesh doesn't appear.

Does someone know why??? I copied all the jets parts from starlord and bips nodes and transfered to my mesh.

I believe Starlord was done by Detourne_Me. The easiest thing to do would be to replace the fly animation in your Chance skope's keyframes with the fly animation from the Starlord keyframes. To make sure the jets appear and disappear when they are supposed to, you should also replace the take_flight and land_from_flight animations on your Chance skope with those animations from the Starlord keyframes.

Even though you copied the jet nodes over to the mesh, it's the fly animation that has a "command" to activate the jets. This "command" isn't present in the current keyframes you are using.

Oh, Hoss! Thank you. Now I understand that the only way to make the jets smoke appear is to use the same keyframe.

So, I transfered the skin of chance to Starlords. I mainteined the jets and almost all the nodes from Starlords. I only took off the jacket and the mask from Starlords.
Then, I transfered the skin to starlord expecting that it would fly with the smoke but for some reason I can not understand the keyframe is working perfectly but the smoke in its feet doesn't apear... Almost every node is there except the mask and the jacket as I said.... the jets and everything is still there, the blue smoke should appear whily  flying..

It's so weird.... If somebody found out why I can't have that effect tell me please.

Thank you all, specially Hoss20.

Have you looked at Grenadier's "Raider_V1" Mesh (http://forceofparadox.byethost31.com/grenadier_two.html)? This is what I was thinking of using as a starting point if/when I eventually got around to Skoping "Chance".

heroidosilencio

Oh, thank you very much you both!!!

I decided to work with Raider-1 from Grenadier but I would like to have the same effect in the boots (blue smoke) that Starlord has when flyies.

How could I transfer to  Raoder-1 the Starlord's effect while flying (a blue smoke)??
I tried transfering the jets bips with nifskope and it didn`t work. I tried also to transfer the movement FLY from Starlord with m25keyframe to my mesh, after transfering the jets bips from Starlord, but it didn`t work as well...

Where am I commiting the mistake? Is it possible to transfer that effect from Starlords (blue smoke in the feet) while flying to Raider-1? And If so, how should I do?

QUESTION 2
I am intending to start a new quest. Drawing skings
What program shall I use to draw some skins and transfer to the meshes? Thank you

daglob

There is a free program called GIMP that will do a lot that Photoshop will do. I know some people in the past have done skins with MS Paint, although I don't see how (Magic, maybe).

You might go here, too:

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/FFBaseSkins1/info

...where there are a bunch of base skins. I don't have the addresses, but there are also Yahoo groups for Fire files (like for The Human Torch mesh) and lightmaps. You might also check anything I've done for the past year or so; I've been experimenting with lightmaps.

Cyber Burn

The Lightmap Pack, and the Fire Packs are in the Yahoo Group that Daglob linked you to. Definitely download those.

As for Skinning Programs, I usually use "Paint.Net". It's simpler than GIMP (I have used both), but both are Free and are worth trying.

GIMP = http://www.gimp.org/

Paint.Net = http://www.getpaint.net/index.html

Thank you very much for you both. I hope I can contribuite with this comunity in some way!!!

Lately I am very fascinating about all the things I have been learning here. Thank you for the help and forgive me for so much questions all the time.

Cyber Burn

Questions are always welcome. But I really encourage to check out the Resources Yahoo Group. I haven't updated it in a while, but there is still a lot of good stuff there.

No problem, I would also recommend checking out the Art Files (DDS Files) from the in-game FX. They could be quite useful when creating effects like what you're describing.
