Hey, CB.
Thank you so much for your effort on keeping our "memories" alive. You made a great job making sure those resources are available after all those years.

Cyber Burn

Hey JJ, glad to see you back. I try to add what I can, when I can...Some old, some new, hopefully people will find a use for some of this.

Cyber Burn

I added a bit more to the "Links" Section, including a new Section Titled "Freedom Force History":

Links:

For anyone that tried to get into one of my Yahoo Groups and wasn't able to, I apologize, the settings had previously been changed (Not by me), and I haven't been able to change them back. I've been out of State the last few weeks with almost NO Cell or Internet Service, and didn't check Yahoo at all. If you still want into the Groups, re-apply, and send me a PM to let me know, and I'll approve you. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience.

For those wanting to try experimenting with Blender, here's a very simple YouTube Video I found that shows what you need to get started.

Edit: NifTools YouTube Channel added to the Links Section in the Resources Group.

Stumbled across a very informative YouTube Channel today, and definitely felt it was worth sharing:

Nice find, CB. I've been kicking the tires of Unity since last Spring, and there are tons of in-depth resources available on it and on Blender on YouTube and various sites. It's also been rather easy to find e-books for almost nothing, via Humble Bundle and subscription services such as Scribd.

I still have a lot of stuff sitting on my Flash Drive, but considering all of the issues that we've been having with Yahoo, I don't know if I want to keep that going.

Been considering other options, but with time being so limited, not sure if I can make anything happen.

Cyber Burn

Unfortunately, free time has been non-existent for me, so I haven't made any updates to the site, nor have I looked for any options in regards to finding a replacement site. But for now, since it is a common request, I added the "Deadpool_Muscular_Updated" Mesh to the MediaFire Links Section.

I believe this is the location for the software that lets you convert files from (.dae) to (.fbx) to (.obj).

This program is really useful if you want to use XPS/XNALara files for importing characters, too.
In Blender I import the .nif of the base mesh, and delete everything but the actual mesh (so I delete the rigging, selection/bounding boxes, etc) and export it as an .fbx
Then with htis convertor I export it to a static .obj (sometimes the Blender export to static .obj won't work well with xps)

Then, I can resize and position the xps character in the Posing Studio, using the static obj of the base mesh as a mold.  Export that as an OBJ, then it's really easy to import the new obj into Blender to do a bone weight copy for easy rigging.

I wonder if that holds true for weapons as well because there had been a lot that I wanted to import, but couldn't because they were in XPS/XNALara format.

detourne_me

for weapons in xps format, all you need to do is export them as .obj with XNALara.  pretty simple :)

Interesting, I deleted so many files because they were in that format. I may have to consider re-installing.

While I haven't made any updates to the site for a while, I came across this and thought it might be useful to those using Paint.Net.

With Yahoo Groups going away, I'm considering putting together a Google Site as a replacement. It may take a few years, but that's my eventual goal.

You could just put it on Mediafire for now, and I'd post a link to the main folder in the Living List.

So, since there have been a few requests asking about how I set up my File System so that I can use multiple "Characters" Folders, I went ahead and created a quick tutorial for it.

If anyone has any questions about this, feel free to ask. I'm also in the process of creating an alternate version that gives a better explanation of this system, so as soon as I get that finished, I'll post that as well.
