I haven't really gotten into candies/chocolates yet.  I wanted to try making toffee, but I've been too busy.  Hopefully next year things won't be so crazy for me.

I'm making some cookies right now (chocolate chunk/walnut) and an apple pie to have for Christmas Dinner tomorrow.

Toffee is fun. Here's a tip--cream the butter and the sugar together before you put it in the pot to cook. I don't know entirely why it works, but it makes it softer.

My mother is baking fruit cake cookies right now. I don't like fruit cake, but the cookies are good. Now if I can just get her to make fried apple pies, brown sugar brownies, fudge, and divinity (I know it's raining, but she can do it), then I'd probably go into a sugar coma.

But I'd be smiling...
