Now the big consideration: How many of those orbs can I give Mother Righteous before we exceed the face count limit? The comic art is inconsistent but the look averages twenty. I think from a model we are typically seeing from behind that would be too cluttered. She has some nice back features like her braid that should remain visible.

WyldFyre

Maybe half that amount? Ten would provide a lot of coverage.

That sounds about right. Maybe 11 or 13 to make it look natural. There orbs are larger than here head and the artist use tricks when they draw her so she's never obscured. Sucks because she actually a nicely detailed back view, the hair and cape especially.

SickAlice

I'm getting lucky. She has an alternate dress and wrap combo that I had a few problems with but got it there eventually. Now to work the animations and do in game boundary tests. I also should remind myself to texture some shadows underneath the chains on the corset skirt. Everything else is coming out fine. Oh and I also saw in the art eventually they did decrease the amount of lanterns down to eight or nine which made it all a little more workable.

WyldFyre

Yeah, I thought 20 was a bit much.

Coming along well now. There is an issue where the pointer fingers drag. I'm considering re-weighting the entire thing but won't until I'm done with the keyframes. I'm getting lucky with those too. I love it when I can get things right on the very shot especially if I'm shooting in the dark like I am with this one. There is no real equivalent to this characters moves nor body type so I'm just making it up as I go along.

SickAlice

Getting Dr.Doom's mask about where I like it. I scrapped and remade it six times now.

SickAlice

Ty. I'm taking my time with this one. Most of the costume parts are finished, I either replaced or remapped and reset some of Gren's stuff. I'm looking at the fine details in the armor now and how all that should be set and mapped.

Nice. Tracy was one of the first things I ever thought about making. I never really settled on a design though.

Style, those are great!  I only recognize a few of them, as I don't know Dick Tracy all that well, but the style (ha) and personality of the characters is unmistakable.

SA, looks like you've got a lot of great stuff in the works!  That Doom head looks amazing!

I like this Dick Tracy's characters

I don't recall whom here but I know someone wanted a throne sitting position for Dr. Doom. I am working on it. I noticed the sitting positions for Sinister are not compatible with Gren's Doom and just turn the body into a deformed potato. I'm having a lot of spinal problems and went through a surgery on my tailbone so I'm just moving at a very, very slow pace when I have time between chores, medical stuff and obligations. But it is underway as are any standing projects I have on my hard drive. I'm going to give him a few other custom animations that look like his signature comic poses as well by the end of it. The upside is the weather is endlessly terrible so I do have this time indoors.

Good to hear from you SA. Take your time - there's nothing here important to rush on. Just glad to see you on the forums

WyldFyre

Hope you recover soon SA. As someone with back issues, I sympathize. Take your time.

May you recover quickly from the operation and may the bad weather not punish you too much.

SickAlice

Ty. It's a reoccurring thing. Surgeons cut into my tailbone and hips pretty bad. Sitting, the ideal position for working on models is well, I can only do it for so long.

Making progress on Doom. I'm very familiar with the character and have everything I need to do mapped in my mind already so he's going well albeit the slow pace of mine. I already finished his new sitting animation keys as well.

SickAlice

I liked much of what Gren did and wanted it to match his but made some a lot of adjustments to the mesh, a lot of rempapping and then some fresh new parts (gloves, disks, a mask, so on). As usual this one can be toggled using the textures and will have different parts like an unmasked, hood down, so forth.

WyldFyre

Iconic Doom is looking great SA!
