I think AA updated the picture since my first comment. Thor did not have the cool pose before.

I'm dying to find out what the new key frames are like. AfghanAnt mentioned that he was trying to skope a anti-force animation and that would be the icing on the cake. First thing I did when I came home from work was run to the computer and log on here to see if it was released yet.

See I thought about doing Herc but I really don't know much about him recently. I know he hangs out with Amadeus Cho and a wolf cub but other than that I only know Herc from this classic Thor annual I had as a kid.

Oddly enough, the image below inspired me to reskin these two.

I was at either Walmart or Target and I freaked out with joy when I saw the Marvel Super Hero Squad: Ares and Thor but then got upset once I realized in order to get the Marvel Legends Ares I would have to buy a bunch of toys I didn't want.  Damn marketing gimmicks...

I'm very close to finishing Ares and I might actually add a fx to Thor's hammer so when he swirls it, lightning and such spin around but if I do that I have to skope a new Mjolnir fx or something so we will see... I think I'm getting a little too obsessed with Thor.

Funny I saw some images of Marvel Super Hero Squad X-Force Wolverine and X-23 that made me want to skin. Funny how those toys can inspire.

Also I'm pretty sure Amadeus' coyote turned out to be a skrull.

It was real for a few weeks and then it was replaced and turned out to be a skrull in Incredible Hercules: The SI tie in. However, in the double sized issue that came out this week, Cho found his real pup and used Hulk as a distraction to regain it...only to find out the pup had started a new life.

Anywho, here is a quick preview of Ares. I thought I'd finish him last night but I ended up eating takeout and watching films. I'll probably have some time after the work day is over to finish him up. Especially since I gave up drinking for Lent.

Ares looks good so far.  I can't say too much since he isn't finished, but I like the details on his shin guard as it stands.  How about adding some similar nicks and scratches to the breastplate?

I didn't get a chance to comment of Thor, but fantastic work love that look on his face strong and determined. Ares is coming along nicely. I like the chest plate and can I ask were that helmet is from?

I thought about it but I'm not sure what material his vest/armor thingie is. It doesn't seem like armor because it is always being blown off along with his helmet.

I like the chest plate and can I ask were that helmet is from?

It is a mix of tommyboy and Gren's pieces. The exact pieces will be in the readme.


Thanks everyone else for the comments. So the Thor additional keyframes worked but the lightning effect on the hammer gave me trouble so I'm going to fake it with the fx I'm doing that is based on Beyonder's original fx.


I finally finished Ares today, which was a relief because I've got some other stuff coming up soon. I'm going to try to get this stuff packed up and ready to be shipped off tonight if I don't get sidetrack by a crawfish boil I'm attending in a couple of hours.
