So...

I skinned for the first time in nearly a year and... my laptop died. I have to do a complete system restore, thereby losing it.

I might try it again, but this experience sort of deflated me.

The problem is I was skinning a set, and it's all lost. Here's what I had been working on. Hoss20 provided this AWESOME skope.

Dang, LP. That really sucks to hear.

I know what it feels like to lose quite a bit of work.  Two or so weeks ago, my external hard-drive crashed, causing me to lose nearly everything that I had for Freedom Force and Total War that I was collecting/working on for the past three years.

It's a crummy thing to experience.  Just don't let that stop you from doing what you love.

I hope your computer issues are worked out soon enough,  I must say that you've been doing a fantastic job with the female heroes and villains.  They are often neglected, and the obvious care that you put into these skins just makes it all worth it.
I love how I can play with an all-girl X-men team from your skins alone.
and, if it wasn't for Hoss pointing out Gamorra in another thread, I would never have known that she was released too.  solid work!

LP, I'm sorry to hear about your Laptop, I definitely feel for you, my PC has been on the fritz for a while now, I'm just hoping it holds up till this quarter ends.

I really hope that you can salvage some of your unreleased work before you do the System Restore.

As for the computer issues, have you tried http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/system-restore-windows-7.htm? It helps me save some files (not all).

Thanks, folks. Unfortunately there was no way to retrieve any data (I was speaking to a technician for days) and I've since sent my laptop to the manufacturer.

Either way, I'll certainly redo that Typhoid Mary when I get it back and muster the time. AA's Stryfe might inspire me to redo those MLF members, actually.

I just found a bunch of stuff tha I had skoped that I had lost in my last crash. I found it in my old sent e-mail. Maybe you could salvage some stuff that way? Either way, best of luck getting things back together. I really hope this doesn't dissuede you from continuing to skin, you're such an exceptional skinner, you have an amazing eye for colors and details.

This version is superior to the previous one, the lighter hair works for it. The only critique I have would be to add some texture to the individual hair strands. Otherwise, this just rocks.

@Cyber - yeah, the solid-color hair is a distraction, but unfortunately the way it is mapped makes it impossible to create gradients of color. That's why I was considering darkening it, to make it less conspicuous.

Excellent work! Typhoid Mary was always an interesting character to me. Though I felt she could have been better utilized in a different comic. Just never was big on Daredevil. All that aside, I can't wait to get this skin in my grubby paws...
