I suppose people will ask for the stupid grapple gun to be included, otherwise I'd be able to finish this tonight...*mumbles* now I have to make the stupid custom keyframes for the stupid grapple gun
*ahem* aaanyhoo...the mask is animated, (an idea stolen from Death's Jester's excellent Rorschach skin/hex/skope/thingee).
There will be two skins, a "before" and an "after". If you have to ask "before and after what?", you don't know the character well enough.
There will also be two sets of masks, one based on the comics, another based on something else. A no-prize to the first one to identify the mystery source....

OK, the Rorschach_tf mesh is ready to go.
However, do people want the grapple gun?
Do we want a flaming hairspray can animation with fire particle spray?
Or are we just happy to have him as is?
Adding anything else means waiting a while longer as I animate any new bits (badly).
Here are the two skins he ships with.(Ha! Another preview pic! Most previewed mesh evar!) Those with a discerning eye will note that I moved the coat and collar up as it was too low on the chest in the last version.

Mmmmmm... I was happy with just a basic version too.. then the temptation of seeing him use that spraycan torch in combat starts to make me drool a bit..

Yeah, I'm very tempted to wait just a bit longer...

Maybe you can just recycle a gun firing animation with him using the grapple gun for a ranged attack.. after all there is an existing FFvT3R FX which covers that use. Then use a Batman wall climbing animation with a rope added in to cover him using the grappling gun to climb walls (wouldn't need to have him fire off the gun then grab hold of the rope first) then you would cover those bases without too many newly made custom keyframes.

i love the before and after skins too.  interesting you chose those faces as well, since the kovacs face is the split head dog... kind of the turning point when he becomes rorscach, and the other face is the surprised face he uses right before doc manhattan obliterates him!  nice work!

The mask is animated, with 8 different "faces" in the ifl.
There will be two "sets" of 8. The ones shown in the latest preview are from the "comic book" set, all either directly from pics of him in the comic, or like the "dog head" one, from comic related imagery. It was just the luck of the draw that when I pressed "print screen" those two were showing, if I'd picked them I'd have put the "dog head" one on the "after" pic.
The other set is based on....well that would be telling. They offer an alternative set of faces, let's put it that way. You can see a couple from that set in the earlier preview.

The flame isn't displaying quite right yet, not sure why its brown, so I have to fix that, but you get the general idea...

also,  i just want to point out that i'm using Ozymandias' dodge_left_b animation as a passive "catch bullet" defence. hahaha!
(i actually reread Watchmen again today, no classes for the second day in a row, yet i must be at school for 8 hours a day)
