Just did some poking around on the internet, and here's what I found.

First of all, Maguire and Raimi have already signed their contracts for films 4 and 5 which will be filmed together.  The only other actor that has signed on again that I know of is the one who played JJ, although it looks like the rest probably will return.

Raimi has also promised that The Lizard will definitely be coming in this time around.  He'd also like to set up the Sinister Six in a future film by introducing the villains from that group that we haven't seen yet.

In addition, Venom will be returning, in his own movie.  Grace will not be playing him for the spin off, however.

Eh, Topher Grace wasn't what was wrong with Venom in Spider-man III.  Put me down as a pass on a Venom film, and let's hope Spider-man IV is an improvement over III.

Im gonna pass on Venom as a whole regardless of the medium... talk about stretching out (Bwa ha ha) a limited character...

Spiderman 3 wasn't that bad -- and where it was bad, was none of the places that people think it was. It was the subversive "stick it to the studio suits" comic book movie which continually cracks me up. Plus the song and dance stuff was pure brilliance.

I am really glad to hear JK Simmons coming back. He's a great JJ and Ive always really liked him as an actor. If we could just get rid of Kirsten Dunst...

I am also glad to hear J.K. Simmons is back for the next movie. I probably misread it, but at first I was worried from Cat's post that Simmons was not coming back as JJJ. I think Simmons is perfect as Jameson and a really talented comic actor in general (he was probably my favorite part of Burn After Reading).

Agreed on that. He cracked me up in every scene in BAR.
Also agree on getting rid of Kirsten Dunst. She may be the worst actress in hollywood. I'd be ok with getting rid of Maguire too, but if he has to stay, I'm cool. There's a lot of worse people for the part.

This, however, is lame. Topher Grace was the best thing about Spider-Man 3. He's funny and his "prayer" was epic cool. And Venom doesn't need a spin-off, he only works as a bad guy. I would've liked to see Venom NOT squeezed into Spider-Man 3 (Sandman was the coolest special effects of any movie ever and the reason I switched to bluray, that alone made him a great villain) and we could have had a reimagining of Venom, played by Foreman, with a new and more interesting back story. I'd go see an Eric Foreman (not House) Venom movie, but probably not a generic actor Venom movie.
I apologize in advance for everything I say on here. I regret it immediately after clicking post.

Hmm Omar Epps as Venom. That would be interesting....

After seeing Dunst in How to Lose Friends, I now like her. Granted she wasn't the best choice as MJ, but she is decent. Though part of me is hoping Peter x MJ get married in the last movie as an screw you to Marvel. <.<

No, it was bad in lots of places that I, a person, think it was.  It was over-crowded with villains and story ideas to the point that all of them suffered greatly for it in the final product.

Actually, Venom's always been more of an anti-hero than a villain.  The Eddie Brock Venom, I mean.  He definitely could star in his own movie, I think.

Bad parts of Spiderman 3. The "New Goblin". WTF is the NEW GOBLIN!?! If they had stuck to harry being the GREEN GOBLIN(green being the emphasised word!), i would have loved that subplot.  I think they took the  "evil" peter thing the wrong way, and made him act too cool, not the cocky i'm above you king george type of cool, but the, let me hang out with you just to urine someone off, type of cool. Though everyone was cast well, especially sandman. My only beaf with him is simply the bizzare change in voice when he gets big(no need to go into the scifi explanation on how his vocla chords would stretch and get deeper, i already thought of that). I mean, why does every villains voice get all deep and inaudible when they get big. What eva. I also liked Topher Grace as Eddy Brock. The simple fact was that they didn't show Peter's relationship with him enough previously too the venom transformation for me too by into that. And the biggest part of this, VENOM. Voice hardly changed, was nowhere near HUGE ENOUGH, and his eyes were too close together. I did however like the way they found an even ballance between the "it's a black suit! No, it's a blue suit! No, it's a black suit that looks blue because they had to use blue ink to outline the suit due to the fact that the different shades of black weren't noticably different!" debate. I especially loved how the suit GRIPPED eddy brock, the webs/symbiote made it look more alive. MJ, got to go. Even for a little while. I know they're supposed to be together, blah blah blah. Bring back Gwen! My favorite of Spideys girlfriends and the best cast in the movie. Just my oppinion.
