RIP Ron Silver, dead at 66

Actor Ron Silver has died at the age of 62. According to the New York Post , he was battling esophageal cancer for two years. Horror fans will recognize him for his turn in the 1981 film The Entity . He later went on to star in various genre offerings such as Shadow Zone , Timecop , The Arrival and the thriller Blue Steel . In 1990 he starred in Reversal of Fortune alongside Jeremy Irons and Glenn Close.

I was somewhat of a fan of his though not just for his acting.  Granted, he did make Time Cop reasonably watchable. . . okay, less unbearable than some JCVD movies.  I loved his stint on the West Wing as well but thought it was too brief.  The reasons I really respected the man cannot be mentioned here but I did.  A toast in his memory.
