So tonight i had a date with a girl i met through the internet. a great girl, not too shy. but she lives over an hour away by subway.
latyer tonight i met another girl. American Korean, she can drink, dance well, and she gave me crap bout my taste in music i wasn't oldschool hardcore enough for her, she was diehard bad brains and black flag, while my 90's bands didn't meet the cut. oh, and she lives pretty much in my neighborhood

Now i'm a sucker for strong women. I rally want to pursue something with her, but of course afraid of rejection,  and then i'll have to reject this other girl i met tonight.
any advice?

Same here, I'm dating a tough latina right now with strong opinions and I could not be happier. I would say keep your mind open and play the field, personally when I decided to start dating again I went to OKCupid and met two great girls who I had fun dates with but had very little chance of actually starting a relationship with (not 100% my type). Next I meet a friend of a firend on vacation and now we live together.

So yeah, have fun, be honest about what you and she likes, and if you start getting serious with somebody cut it off with the rest. Everyone defines 'serious' differently of course, but you will know.

Girls...I do not understand them at all.

Hey if it's poppin' with bachelorette #2 then that's the move. And you're just dating...nothing says you have to cut girl #1 out of the picture entirely...these are not your women..yet. You're just getting to know them. :P And don't be afraid of rejection...it's no big if you keep cool. ;)
I can't help it that I look so good baby! I'm just a love machine!

Ive found the best gauge of a woman when the subject of music comes up, it to tell them you are a Rush fan... Everything you need to know about what they think of you will be summed it in the next 5 seconds.

Musical tastes change though. My girlfriend listened to dance music and oldschool rap her entire life but after we met she got into the heaviest metal in my catelog, to the point where she all but makes fun of me whenever I'm listening to what she calls "happy metal" aka prog or power metal.

And about gender... I've had straight, gay, lesbian and bi friends and all I've learned is that nobody makes sense, nobody gets nobody and everyone is nervous. If you aknowledge that things are tough for you but they are for the other person as well, you find it easier to take risks and deal with rejection.

There ya go ruining my perfectly good Rush joke with all your logic and real world experiences... BAH!

I agree with everything you said EXCEPT, no one grows to like Rush... You either like them (or accept your sig other does) or you don't. That's why I think they are the ultimate musical barometer.

What? I know you're just kidding for the most part but I hated them to begin with and now they're growing on me.
I apologize in advance for everything I say on here. I regret it immediately after clicking post.

I agree with Casanova.   Don't worry about getting serious until it gets serious.

Hmmm... that really depends on the women in question.  If they don't want serious until it gets serious... then fine.  But if either one has the notion of being the 'one' early... then you can have issues.

Thanks for all the advice! especially the Rush question and the playing the field bit.
I'll try and keep an open mind about the girls (and an open schedule).
I've tried juggling dates in the past, but just ended up cutting off all relationships... i can be way too goofy sometimes. That's why usually i have longish term relationships (1 to 2 years).
ahhh, we'll see how it goes.

lugaru

That's the way I was too, I could not kiss a girl without falling head over heels. Then I finally reached a point where I had much more realistic expecations of dating and I said "no more long term relationsips, I'll play the field and date lots of people and have fun" and bam, soon after that Im living with someone. And honestly In the end I am happier in something stable.

So is there an expiration date to your stay over there?

In the same boat as well, although the one I wish to let go wont go so easily.  Pray she takes it well and she doesnt know where you live does she?

Dont ever bother trying.  Just go with the flow.

detourne_me

She won't go without a fight Gengoro? hmm, that could be trouble! Girls usually find out where I live (I've got a bigger apartment than most single people here, so it's easier to entertain)

About the expiration date thing Lug- Yeah kinda,  I'm trying to date both native Koreans and foreigners. It is strange to think about relationships like that... with an expiration date.
So anyways, I'll just keep playing the field - was with the American girl last night, she's leaving Korea in June and she doesn't really want a serious relationship either,  so i'm cool with that :D

If dating in Korea is anything like China (and I imagine it's better) then I'm sure you're having a good time!

I didn't understand girls, I don't understand women.

It's a losing battle now matter what.
