Bill Murray has finally gotten over himself and has clearly been thinking about a possible sequel. Sure in the video below he doesn't sound terribly enthusiastic,BUT and this is a big but, he TALKED about it. Thats a start. Since him voicing the video game was a major breakthrough, this should count for something. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and fast forward the video to about 5:20 or around there. All the rest is about his GB experiences. We may be callin' these guys sooner than we think!

Silver Shocker

That's good, I loved Ghostbusters as a kid and I'd like it if they made another with the original guys (if it was good of course). I wasn't aware that Bill Murray wasn't interested in another Ghostbusters, but if that's the case, then I'm glad that he's starting to come around.

This is very good news. Bill Murray has to be my favorite comic actor.

And, honestly, in the video link, he actually does sound pretty enthusiastic. I mean, he wasn't "I definitely want to make this happen!" enthusiastic, but he wasn't hedging and he really sounded like he thought of the idea with some affection and liked the writing team who was working on the new script. At the point where the script isn't done, that's about as much enthusiasm as I'm going to expect.

I don't know the story behind any bad blood spilled during GB2, ,but Murray does imply that it was too special effects-centric and not enough plot was given to the plot. I pretty much agree with that. If there was a time he had to "get over himself", I don't know why...

I'm surprise nobody didn't try to "reboot" the series.  That's good.

A friend of mine was telling about the purported plot of the third last summer.  If what he told was the script that they have stuck with then it sounds like a great concept.

Spoiler
Basically, it was Ghostbusters vs. TV Paranormal Investigators who may or may not be phonies.

I had heard things more along the lines of:
Spoiler
Ghostbusters Hellbent/Go to Hell/3  Where the ghostbusters investigate a protal to hell opening in central park and end up in an alternate reality newyork where the devil resembles donald trump.
I think what you said was a subplot of this:   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostbusters_(franchise)#Novels
We definately have got to encourage a publisher to pick this up again.

I am definately going to have to get an xbox360 before june. I have seen the ps2 video and although it looks cool seeing them in the cartoon way we never got to, i really want to play the great graphics version.

I heard two days ago it was being considered that the guys from 40y/o Virgin were going to be in a new GB movie as the new ghostbusters and the older ones would pass them the mantle. Of course, this was IRL so it's not very reliable.
I apologize in advance for everything I say on here. I regret it immediately after clicking post.

The guy I was talking to could've been simply referring to the scenes that he was asked to be a consultant and actor in.  Probably something at the beginning.

Sounds cool! I know i heard about that scene a long time ago. It would be a good sub plot. Anything anyone would specifically like to see in a new movie?

Looks like the cast being mentors is most likely going to be true, since Sony wants younger lead actors. Me thinks the Seth Rogan "crew" from 40 year old and most of his other movies might be happening.

Apparently Judd Apatow isn't involved, which doesn't necessarily mean Rogen, Rudd, and Segel AREN'T, but it does seem to dispute any evidence that they ARE.
I don't know that I'd want to see GB movie without Bill Murray.

Yeah.....I wouldn't go see that movie.  It isn't Ghostbusters unless the Ghostbusters are the stars.

I have heard they will have a large part in it still. I wouldn't mind new GBs either though. I think it is only time(especially looking at recent pictures of Mr. Ramis, he isn't in top acting shape). I think it would be histerical to make a movie involving the training of newbs, only to see the things the newbs do wrong. I think if we can get a nice partnership of "Hey, were the originals people love and you guys are the newbs the series needs, we can both share the screen" then it will be good. NOTE: I don't want the WHOLE movie on training, i just think the comedy potential is hilarious.

I would also like to appologize for the number of newbs stated in this post. Off day.

Yeah....I try and avoid Seth Rogen like the plague.
