Why didn't you mesh the stingers? I think it would have added a lot.

Exhaustion, honestly. There's an issue with the female_tm2 mesh that forced me to spend a good couple hours fighting just to get the helmet to work properly (I need to go back and re-physique the whole mesh, I just don't have time ATM), plus about 10+ hours of fighting with the keyframe animations (which still is not completely done) and I'm doing everything I can to save myself from going into burnout on this one. I may revisit it later and do something a bit nicer, but for now I'm just ready to be done with it.

Sounds like it's time to put it aside for awhile and rest, if you're starting to burnout, that's what I'm doing a the moment before jumping back into the alphabet.

Agreed, the last thing the Community needs is another major contributor burning out and leaving the game.

It's less a matter of me leaving the game, and more... well, I more or less did Stinger on a whim (I like the character, but of the skins I've done over the last few months she's the one I had least motivation to do) and then it's just been issue after issue and I'm at the point where I just want the thing done, even if it's not up to my normal standards. I've already put more time into Stinger than into Antman and Pinser combined, and I just want to move on to stuff I have more enthusiasm to do.

Edit: I made a video of me doing edits on a few animations to showcase why this has been so draining for me.

If you need to repeat the same edit, couldn't you automate the tedious job by using a command-line tool? (I seem to remember Stumpy releasing something along these lines, but I might be wrong. Anyway, there is the PyFFI library which came with NifSkope.)

Except I'm using mouse movements and keystrokes, and by the time I could figure out how to use any of those things I'd be done already.

Speaking of, I'm finally done. Starting to make previews and portraits and junk for a release sometime this weekend.

Well, to be honest, I'd just come off a particularly bad shift at work too... and I haven't been feeling great besides (been "almost sick" all week... Enough so that I've felt physically drained, but no actual symptoms or anything that made it worth staying home. And now that it's my weekend off, I finally seem to have gotten sick. Fun times)

But yeah, I'm happy it's done. We're celebrating my mom's birthday today so I doubt I'll get everything up tonight, but I have a 3 day weekend to get everything finished and maybe get the next skin going. I've been looking forward to this one a lot (another reason I lost interest in Stinger halfway through) so I'm excited to get started.

And that really makes more sense for O'Grady too, as the irredeemable suit relied more on tech, just like Yellowjacket originally had the flight and singers.

Hmmm, I seem to remember reading somewhere that there was a way to have random pics used for your Avatar pic, wish I could find that again. But is that what you did when you made your Avatar blink?

Have you considered using a different lightmap? The reflection seems a little 'loud'.

I'm still working on it, so yeah, they're not done yet. Also yes, that IS tommy's base mesh... about the only thing I meshed are the wings.

For everyone wondering about this... I'm kind of in burnout, I guess? It's weird because I still want to work on this, I can still sit down to do it, and have even done a bit of work... but every time I sit down to actually skin I get tired after maybe 15-20 minutes. It's bizarre.

Wow, 'Mato!  You've done a bunch of REALLY beautiful skins of costumes I haven't seen before.  That was really cool, seeing all these alternate designs realized so well.  I really like that spikey Antman design, though it feels more like something from MoTU than the Avengers for me.  It is just a neat design.

Well...I have no idea who he is, but the skin looks great! The colours and highlights look about perfect and the logo is crisp. Glasses are pretty funny.

Agreed, the glasses are definitely a trip, and I like how it looks like the shirt is a little bit too small at the sleeves.

Glad to see you Skinning again, even if it's only a one time deal.

Still got awhile to go on this one (logo, hair, collar highlight) but I didn't feel right doing one of these guys without doing the other.
