As always that's some fooshing fantastic work mr. murs, never read Red Son, but I can see alot of love went into these, beautiful details and incredible line work. and the colours are great too. And I'm loving the video tutorials, always nice to see how others work. Hope to see more skins and tuts soon!

Hi Murs, I don't mean to pester, but will you be releasing the Captain America skin you previewed a while back? His shield was awesome, and I loved the scalemail.
For anyone, and everyone, who has ever done anything to improve the FF/FFvs3R gaming experience, I want to say thank you. Life is so short, and you have all brought me so much joy. I hope that one day, I am somehow able to return the kindness and generosity that all of you have shown.

I felt like I forgot something. It's up now.

I gotta say that the face work youve done on that skin is damned impressive. You really know how to show age in the face.

I agree with Pod. Your Red Son's re-creations are incredible!

 Especially on the Black Panther on the right.

Thanks for posting the Captain America skin. It was just a matter of time before I made a request myself. (Thanks, Amazo ) I look forward to getting my hands on your Black Panthers. They both look great. I can't decide which one I like better, but it's nice to be able to choose old school or updated. You can't go wrong with either of these skins. Thanks again.

Yeah, the skin was just too awesome to not ask for.

Murs, is there any chance of us seeing a vidtut for logo making? Yours are just awesome.  :D

I use adobe illustrator for that. But if people really want, I'll do it.

Could be useful. How do you handle the mapping when your working in Illustrator?

I just create the logo in illustrator then transfer it over to my skin file in ps.

I would love to see some sort of Illustrator tutorial. I've been able to teach myself Photoshop, but I have found Illustrator to be a whole other ball of wax. My brother is a graphic artist and is able to create masterful things in Illustrator and I've always wanted to make use of it.
Murs, is one able to skin with Illustrator? There's nothing like the sharpness of a vector graphic and I know that Photoshop has extended it's ability to work with vector graphics (though, it's somewhat limited). Would it automatically rasterize when opened in Photoshop and saved as a .tga? I know that there is an option to rasterize shapes and text in Photoshop, allowing you to manipulate them, so it must be able to handle vector graphics somehow.
I probably should have PM'd you this question and I apologize if I took the thread off track.

It's very possible. But it would require exporting to photoshop eventually. I don't think illustrator has .tga or .dds as a file format option.

The best definition of Illustrator I've seen is that it was a graphics program designed by computer engineers, and Photoshop was what they came up with after the graphic artists complained  ;).

The vector graphics in Photoshop seem pretty decent, although I'm pretty sure they do get rasterized somewhere in the saving process, at least wehn it is all merged into a single layer. I've never examined the exported color separations to see if the vector shapes are rasterized on them. I need to do that someday.

Having spent a couple of years using CorelDraw, however, I find that it is easier to do painterly work in Photoshop (or Corel Photopaint), but I can whip up a vector shape or a path in no time flat whenever I need to.

What I'm saying is, you can probably do skins in Illustrator, and I would almost bet that you can find a plug-in that will let you export in any format you want. I find Photoshop easier to use than Illustrator (so much so that I haven't re-installed Illustrator on my new comptuer. Yet.), but that is just me.

Amazo Version 2.2

I've been messing with GIMP.

"vector graphics"; "rasterized" >>>>>waaaayyy over my head.

If I'm correct, I remember a while back you had an Iron Fist skin in the works. What ever happened to that?  It was looking amazing.

I forgot about him. I think he's on my other computer...still unfinished too. I'll be sure to finish him up when I'm over my burn-out.

Murs, dude! I just watched two of tuties and they are great (we skin completely different).

murs47

Update to Bizarro: Red Son. He and my Black Panther skins are now available @ Champions of Freedom.

BentonGrey

Very nice Murs.  That's some really impressive face work.  The detail of the "cracks" and such is really cool.

I agree with Benton and I really liked the colors, the light/shadows contrast is stunning!

Cyber Burn

It's always a pleasure to see the depth that you give your creations. They end up looking less like game skins, and more like cared for characters.

docdelorean88

Murs, have you ever seen Stan Lee's DC Universe? It seems like the sorta stuff you would like?

Ya, but I never read it.

Murs!

That Bizarro looks even better. Love what you did with the boots.

When are you going to do the current Daredevil? Cuz really.. that costume looks like it was made for you to skin.
