 :banghead:

New face here team and I am stumped.  I have the latest ver of Freedom Force? vs The 3rd Reich which is a fresh install. I have installed FFX3.3 and EZFX 6.0.

I have just installed the FX Pack from one of the fine members here and I wanted to add sounds to the new FXs.  So I have done everything that is listed here....
http://frp.unlimited2.net/how-to-install-custom-sounds-in-ffvttr/ and here...http://freedomreborn.net/forums/index.php?topic=50673.0
in an attempt to see what I am missing, but I am having no luck.

I am trying to add a sound file for the Sentinel Charge FX.  The sound file I am using is the "optic blast 2" for testing purposes.

I can get FFedit to play the sound file but the game has nothing.  What could I be missing?  I would welcome any advice.  I am totally stumped.

Make sure you're installing the sounds to the game you're attempting to play. Installing the sounds to bare FFVTTR won't carry them over to FFX or any other mod you might be attempting to play.

If I know what you are trying to say, and I think I do...  I have the sound file in the mod directory IE C:/FFVTTR/FFX3/sounds folder and not the FFVTTR main game dir.  If you could be more specific as to where the sounds should be, and also if the install you are talking about is in windows directories or is this an FFEDIT directory issue.

Bare with me please.  Once I get one sound to work, I will remember forever.  I am pretty sure the fix will be something simple I have missed.   :)  Your patience is appreciated.

To be a bit more concise, I was referring to FFEDIT's option page. If your "primary data path" is pointing to "[...]Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich\Data", then you're installing custom objects such as sounds and fx to the base game of FFVTTR. You'll need to change the primary path to the game you want to install files into.

<---this picture shows the "primary Data path" space under the options tab of FFEDIT.

For example, if I want to install fx and sounds into FFX, then I'd need to change the "primary data path" to "[...]Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich\ffx3".

Hope that helps.

BAM!  You did it boss.  I have my first new sound in the game.  It was the FFedit paths.  With this I should have no more issues with new effects and I can someday turn around and help others like you just did.
