I?m playing with a character that has the earth control and weather control FFX attributes. I noticed that when I use the earthwall and summon hailstorm powers, the rocks and hail are pink/purple. I?m assuming it?s because I?m missing the TGA files associated with these FX and if I place them in the textures folder of FFX that would fix the problem. Does anyone know the names of the TGA files and where they are? I also need the TGA file for Red Oktober?s toad power. Thanks.

open it up on nifskope and the texture names are there...

I had thought of that but I'm not sure where the nif files for them are to open them.

A little outside my area of expertise, but I'll give it a shot.

The NIFs are usually beneath the Art\library\fx folder under Data or whatever mod your are playing.

For FX that came with the game, you will find that stuff (like hitspang_red.tga and beam_Lightning_red.tga for Red Oktober's Toad FX) in the art.ff zip archive in Data (or on the CD if you didn't install it).

I know where the TGAs and the NIFs are but I'm just having trouble locating the ones associated with the earth control and summon hailstorm FFX atrributes.

For actual FX, you would just open the NIFs in NifSkope and look for the texture file names (the NiSourceTexture blocks or whatever). The files specified should be in the textures folders.

However, the rocks formed by (for example) EARTH CONTROL aren't FX. They are objects. I think you might be able to change what the are via FFX Control Centre customization, but the default objects are red_int_rock_formation2 objects. You can look up which their NIFs in FFEdit. In this case they are library\area_specific\underground\decor\rock_formations\rock_formation2\rock_formation2.nif, whose textures, like those for FX, you can also look up by opening the NIFs (and which are redokt_int_rock_wall3.tga). The textures should be in art\library\area_specific\_textures\.

For the hail storm, I'm not sure what part you are talking about. An FX is played when the character starts the storm, then an ffx_hailstone object is spawned, then effect_ffx_icesparks is played,... You can probably find the textures of any of those using a similar process.
