Earlier, I mentioned the some netbook makers are adapting Android for netbooks which could start an interesting war against Microsoft.  Well, apparently Google was already planning something.

Now they announced that they're already working on a new OS, based on their Chrome browser, for PC's, aimed initially at netbooks, and due to go open source soon.

This could get interesting.
