Where to put ALL the FX

Well, since I can play the game again, I was going to re-install all the FX I lost when I had to do a re-install a few months back. But I got to looking...

What directory do they NEED to go in? For some reason, I have all the textures and nifs to my custom FX in the FFX sfx directory, not the regular Freedom Force sfx directory. I am sure that will mean that they will only be active in FFX, not regular Freedom Force or any of the mods. But if I put them in the FF directory, will they still be usable in the other mods (including FFX)? I can see EZFX  effects in both directories, but is that necessary?

This may seem all elementary, and have been covered before, but I haven't had to install anything (other than mods and then the entire game) in a couple of years.

Next up, I gotta do voicepacks...

Putting them in the regular FF directory will make the assets available to any mod, but the FX.dat file for each mod will have to have entries for them. FFX already has a version of the fx.dat pre-compiled with EZFX entries. So as long as you create all your mods with an FFX base it should be fine.
