So, I reinstalled  :ffvstr: have FFEdit and wanted to manually install a web FX for Spiderman, which I copied from the Spiderman folder into various custom folders (the custom folder in the game's directory, in ffx's directory, in the data directory and in the localsettings/applicationdata directory too!).

I proceeded to follow this tutorial when said FX did not occur, and created multiple "fx_web_ball"s to no avail. There is something I'm doing terribly wrong. Please help!

what tutorial did you follow? It seems like you did a lot of unnecessary stuffage and need to start from square one. Each fx should come with a readme that tells you specifically how to set each one up. However, if it doesn't have one, use the one below as a guideline.

1) Place the TGA files in the Data\Art\library\fx\_textures directory

2) Place the FXNAME FX folder (containing core.nif and end.nif) in your

Data\Art\library\fx\generic directory.

-Open the FFeditor & select the FX tab

1) On the bottom right hand corner, click the New button

2) In the FX Details section, type or copy:

Name: FXNAME

Nif Base: library\fx\generic\FXNAME

Attack Type: Ranged

Attack Sub Type: Projectile

3) In the bottom right hand corner, click Save. The FX should now show up on the list.

4) Select FXNAME (the FX you just created) from the list on the left

5) In the Node Attachment Points section:

Start: Right Hand

Core: Right Hand

End: leave blank

6) In the bottom right hand corner, click Save
