How many of you fine folks use Twitter? I honestly haven't been interested in the least in it until recently, and am contemplating the jump to sign up. If I were to get into Twitter (or "The Twitter," as my dad would say), I would use it almost exclusivly for reviews. But I dunno. What do youalls think about "The Twitter?"

Mr. Hamrick

I use twitter very frequently.  Deleted and restarted my account though recently.

I'm on there, but it's all personal stuff. If you want to see how angry I am at McDonald's employees or what football game I'm watching it's all right here:

I did a My Space page years ago and never visited it, I now have a Facebook page and that's where I've drawn my line.  Who the hell wants to hear what I'm doing all day....I certainly don't want to know what everyone else is doing all day either.  I don't understand the need to feel connected to everyone and everything all the time, 24/7...I rarely even take my cell phone with me, when I go out.

But if you're into it and it makes you happy, then tweet away, twits.  :o

OK, I give.

(Sorry Premv, the lure of semi-daily movie reviewing was too much. If it makes you feel better, I probably will rarely update it after about a month.)

Hitman, I won't care as long as you follow these rules:

1. Always be mindful of what you put out there. In this day and age where everyone thinks the internet is some form of anonymity, people forget that what they say online can affect them in real life.

2. Do not fight on Twitter. Don't. Just don't. If you do, I'm going to force you to spend a day with Benton discussing the pros and cons of aquaman's depictions over the years. Don't test me, boy!

3. If you ever reach the point where you use shorthand everywhere and "twitter for help" instead of doing the obvious... I will cut off your hands. You obviously don't deserve them if you reach this plateau.

4. If your "tweeting reviews" becomes "tweeting my every other movement," I'm afraid that I'll have to ban your internet usage. Sorry to be tough... but that's a sign of addiction. I won't stand for it.

Deal, Hitty? Is it a deal? ^_^

You mean I can't call people "poop-heads?" I think I can handle that.

It all started out so well, and then... and then...

Okay, fair enough, let he who is without sin cast the first aspersion and all that, but it seems to me that your sentence (the one which I have (only now) just quoted) there is, like, 90-something percent of the way to being a perfectly posted post, with all that that entails.

But then... but then...

Having bragged so braggadociously, about your fine and fulsome sentences, you only went and foreshortened the final phrase...!

My anger at this turn of events is boundless!

I don't text, so why would I Twitter?

That's pretty much how I look at it.

Texting on the face of it seems very much like IM or email, but the difference is I'm probably not going to stop whatever I'm doing to send a text from my phone (especially not without a physical keyboard).  If I'm going to use the phone, in most cases I think I'd rather make an actual phone call.

Oh, I can think of several legitimate and useful reasons to text.  But not as a lifestyle.

Thus, I don't Twitter.  I know it's not quite the same thing... technically it's a form of "micro-blog".  But it's functionally close enough to texting.  No, actually, it's worse.  I let myself get roped into some Twitterish technology at work... and find that the updates are irrelevant and annoying more than they are useful, even when the updaters mean well and aren't spamming their every moment across cyberspace.  If there's a real use for it, I haven't found it yet.
