I remember reading something about sharing keyframes with different meshes to save space. But I can't seem to find anything about it here or in the Archives. Does any one know about this and how to do it?
Thanks

It's super easy.  Just make a .txt file called keyframes.txt
and inside the file just put the path name to the characters keyframes you want to share from.

For example, this is one of mine:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\freedom force vs. the 3rd reich\Custom\Art\library\characters\DC_Batman\keyframes.kf

You can even get fancy and have a folder that is only full of keyframes files with different names,  like VX_Super, VX_brute, VX_Martialartist, etc. and link all of your characters keyframes to that one folder.

Does this only work with meshes created for  :ff:? Meshes where the keyframes are named "Character", such as Renegade's awesome  :ffvstr: meshes don't work with this. Any suggestions?

I don't think it works in FF1, but it won't work with all meshes. It seems to work with most of them though. So, most Male Heavy mehses can share the same single KF file, most Male Basic, etc...

Let's take Ren's "Captain America Classic" and "Captain America Modern" meshes. In this example, the Modern mesh uses the keyframes from the Classic mesh. However, the keyframes in the Classic mesh are names "Character" so the keyframe trick normally won't work. However, if you rename the keyframes from "Character" to "Keyframes", then you can use the shortcut text that dm shows here. Hope this helps.
