Are these consider dolls, action figures or just collectibles?

I don't like the fact that they are going to make Freddy a pedophile in the new movie.

Freddy was portrayed as a pedo (of a type) in the original series, as well.  He was killing them, but I don't recall if they highlighted anything else he might have done.

Wes Craven said he wanted to have Freddy as a pedophile originally but backed away from that aspect because it might have made his first film more of a target for parental groups because it would have involved children in dangerous situations. Adding that kind of bad press for a small budget horror movie would have made filming it a nightmare on it's own. Wes decided to hint at Freddy's child abducting and killing when he worked on his original screenplay for Elm Street 3 as well as a much larger cast of Dream Warriors but his original script was rejected and retooled with a much different humorous tone for Freddy. The later sequels expanded on his origins further even adding a wife and daughter and his horrible background as an adopted kid with an abusive father.

Based on reviews from folks that got early versions of the scripts, Freddy in the new movie is alleged to be a pedophile since a group of kids decide to accuse the school caretaker because they think he is too friendly with certain kids. That very reason is why parents would come after him once he was released from jail on a technicality. Based on the action figure of his normal look he never had the gloved knives before his death (the gardening glove and clawed tool just become his inspiration for his killing tool within the dreamworld) and his trademark sweater will probably be revealed to be a Christmas gift that he was wearing when he was burned alive. Freddy's desire for revenge against the parents who killed him and the kids who accused him is what brings him back to life in the dreamworld.. no dream demons, no spell books, no necronomicon on loan from Evil Dead.. he is a bogeyman in every sense of the word and fueled by the need for revenge. The director and writers have stated that they planned on making the new Elm Street movies as a trilogy utilizing the original scripts done for Elm Street 1 & 3 which means they plan on bringing the Dream Warriors into play much sooner this time around.

Yeah, Freddy pretty much just slaughtered his way thru the Dream Warriors with little effort until there was just 3 left and those were killed in Elm Street 4 right off the bat passing the hero role to Alice for the rest of the movie. Wes' original Dream Warriors were much stronger and had powers that required lots of special effects (shapeshifting, pyrokinetics, and so forth) but New Line nerfed them down into cannon fodder during the rewrites.

As Freddy started becoming the anti-hero of horror movies New Line didn't want the victims to start out shining their star player of the franchise and that got worse with each sequel that followed.
