Help a Hero in a Halfshell

Hey, I have a really simple request that I hope someone will be willing to take on for me.  I'm working on mission #4, and a small tweak to the textures of the map would add to the atmosphere nicely.  Would someone be so kind as to edit the wall texture for 07a_Euro, replacing the two posters with the Foot Clan symbol?  I just need someone to make the rectangle of the poster white or purple and place a red Foot symbol on it, so it should only take a moment for anybody skilled in the use of photoshp.  http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3609/3637452093_256fb82c7e.jpg

My vote goes to Daglob!  He's done such a magnificent job on Bebop and Rocksteady already!  I'm sure he's probably busy, but it's a shame we can't enjoy the full fruits of his work until we get a Splinter skin as well.  Oh, well... here's hoping!

Whoops, thanks Winters, you reminded me of something I need to change.  It turns out that the irrepressible Daglob has indeed agreed to skin Splinter.  He's also expressed interest in some other characters, but I don't want to put words in his mouth.  Either way, I need to edit my list!

Top of my list now are the Rat King, rock soldiers, the Punk Frogs, and the Mighty Mutanimals!

Awesome stuff TUE.  I've actually been vaguely considering trying to start collecting some of those original TMNT toys ever since I discovered my old hoard of them.  If I get a little extra cash I may just try to get a couple of them at least (or rather their weapons and such, since I found a ton of the figures).

I don't blame her.  It had its strengths, but in general the world they built was much less interesting than that of the original series.  The first season or so actually followed the original comics to a certain degree, though.

Dan, that's not a bad idea.  One of the Thing meshes might not form a bad base, but it would have to be one that could be compatible with the right kfs.  He'd need a skoped on helmet (WWII Cap's would work) and a hi-tech rifle.  That would be the catch.  We'd need a male_heavy style mesh that could have some gun kfs.

It's interesting, I grew up on the original Turtles toon, it was among my favorite things in the world and I still have my army of Turtles figures in a big box, but as I've grown up my appreciation of that series has really slipped. Perhaps I need to watch some old episodes again. I've found myself more attached to the newer cartoon, the first 5 seasons in particular.

I'd encourage you to rewatch the first season of the original Turtle 'toon, Podmark.  It's a lot of fun, really well animated, and not as goofy as the series eventually got.  The new show is certainly much more series, and in general the action is much better.  Still, there is just something about that old cartoon that makes me smile.

I'd have no problem including Karai if she were made, although, story-wise, it would be a long time before I got to her. Still, I could always build her in and have the character available to those who wanted to go up against her.

Because you are going with the old toon wouldn't it make more sense to go with Lotus?

Oddly enough, Lotus actually appeared in the old cartoon before Karai first appeared in the Mirage comic's "City at War" saga.  I felt like Leonardo's affection for Karai in the 2k3 cartoon could have been a subtle shout-out to Lotus, since he really didn't display any such attraction in the Mirage Comics.

Sorry I didn't answer that question Dan, but Style has been very busy lately, and because of various issues, neither of those guys were as ready as they looked.  Hopefully we'll see them eventually, though.

If you want to increase your appreciation for the old TMNT toon, Pod, you might want to check out the Archie TMNT Adventures comic. It apparently took the characters and ideas from the cartoon, and ran with them.

Howdy guys!  I've just released a full version of my Ninja Turtles mod, and although it is a pretty complete story, there is a lot more I'd really love to do.  However, I can't do it without YOUR help!  Help me out with this, and help me create the first good Ninja Turtles game since Turtles in Time!

Turtle Blimp: I think this may actually be possible!  I recently came across a mesh called "Gotham Police Blimp" which is about 90% of the way to being the Turtle Blimp already, it just needs the glider skoped onto it.  I would REALLY love to get my hands on this particular vehicle in order to punch up the one of my upcoming missions that will have a giant Krang terrorizing the city.

Rock Soldiers: These craggy servants of Krang would make for some good fodder.  In fact, I would really like to have them to add variety to the minion types faced in the mod.  I'd really love to get these guys to use in the final mission of the current story arc, so, one of the missions that will be up next.  They should be a relatively easy skope, as any male_heavy with a gun would serve.  Someone has suggested that a Thing mesh might work well, and it would certainly have the right proportions.  The skin wouldn't need to be terribly complex either.

Rat King: Some other villains would be a great way to spice up a campaign, and Ratie here would be a fairly easy skin/skope...though his rat minions might prove more troublesome....Either way, he's just about a necessity.  There are tons of stories that could involve him, and he'd offer a really fantastic change of pace in terms of villains and themes.  Really, any male_basic style mesh would work for him, and the only animations that are really important would be a grenade throwing one.  He could use a bandolier skope, and the rags across his face could be skoped or skinned.  Weapons like his crossbow might be a nice touch, but I'd say they are far from important.

Leatherhead: A mutated Cajun alligator, this character has been both hero and villain, but I really would love to have him to provide another foe to test the Turtles.  He's a fan favorite, and he's certainly always been one of mine as well.  He might be able to be skoped, in part, from Tommy's The Lizard mesh.

Punk Frogs: I would really, REALLY love to see these guys made.  Not only do I have a soft spot in my heart for these southern amphibians, but they would really offer some nice options to the Turtles' roster as well.  They are a bit of a challenge, seeing as they are fairly distinctive from the usual humanoid shape of FF meshes, but fortunately, the difference between the individual frogs, other than their armament, is mostly cosmetic.  I think that Taskmaster might make a solid base for their skopes.

Metalhead: He would be a nice way to mix things up on the player, providing a different type of villain.  Being made of his eponymous metal would make him very tough, and it would allow me to force the players into thinking their way into defeating him.  Plus, he could pull double duty as a villain and an ally.

Casey Jones: I know, I know, we already have a really excellent skope and skin for him, but he is pretty limited in terms of animations, so I am hoping someone can work some skoping magic there, as I am having a hard time putting together a good herofile for him.  He could also use the ability to pull out a few different sports implements, but beggars can't be choosers!

Wingnut and Screwloose: This unbalanced twosome were more of my favorite toys when I was a kid, and they would provide some really interesting characters, gameplay-wise.  Unfortuantely, this is pretty much a two-fer, as you can't really have one without the other.  Wingnut could, perhaps, be skoped from one of Tommy's meshes with bat-like wings.  Screwloose, on the other hand, could probably come from Gren's Beetle mesh, at least in part.

Mondo Gecko: This anthropomorphic, skateboarding lizard was one of my all-time favorite figures as a kid, and I'd really love the chance to see him realized in FF.  He was a fixture in the Mighty Mutanimals backup feature, and a hero in his own right with that team.  After some suggestions by other helpful fans, I think that he might work with a skope of Tommy's The Lizard mesh and the Silver Surfer.  Add in some hair and a baseball cap, and you're all set.

Armaggon: An incredibly awesome villain, this mutant shark scared the dickens out of me as a kid and would be totally necessary if I wanted to mess with the Future Shark Trilogy.  I'm thinking that the Sharkman mesh would serve as a pretty good base for this, but I'm not sure where the extras could come from.

Wrestling Turtles: One of the most memorable arcs from the Archie comics had the Turtles kidnapped and brought to Stump Asteroid where they were forced to compete in an intergalactic wrestling competition.  The four heroes in a half shell were given new costumes that were very distinctive, and if I wasn't limited by resources (I know, it's becoming an old tune by now), I think it would be a blast to throw in a few missions where you have to use these wrestling Turtles, with a whole new powerset.

Only appearing in a couple of episodes of the Classic TMNT toon means he's not one of the more popular characters in the TMNT franchise, but I've always liked his design.  It's simple and sleek.

Hmm... I don't think it could have been Peter Cullen, unless they really altered his voice.  The only thing I can find on the internet regarding REX's voice actor is a reference to longtime VA, Jack Angel (who actually had a history of voicing robots in Transformers, Sonic the Hedgehog, and A.I. Artificial Intelligence).  His voice reminds me a bit of Frank Welker.
