Hey, all!

I just got back into FF/FFVTTR after a looooooong absence (I'm the Artist Formerly Known As CherokeeBlackjack, in case anyone out there still remembers me)....Windows Service Packs and a crappy computer pretty much sidelined me for the last, oh I dunno, FIVE YEARS or so.....but just picked up a great new HP Pavilion last month and was ECSTATIC to discover that my FF games actually work now....and better than ever!

The only thing that's buggin' me right now is my Leveledit.....it doesn't work at all in FF (just goes black and crashes to desktop), but more importantly, in FFVTTREdit (the level editor):   the game boots up, but then I get an error message that reads "LEVEL EDIT IS ONLY INTENDED FOR USE FROM WITHIN FFEDIT."

Anybody have any suggestions on a fix....?

FF1 level edit doesn't work in vista. I assume you're using vista (or beyond) if it's a new computer. The second problem makes it seem like you're not launching the level editor from within ffedit2 (FFedit.exe) and are trying to use the shortcut.

WB, btw. I have vague memories of you. You were working on an updated Patriot City mod at one point, no?

Yeah, I was using the shortcut for ffvt3rEdit.exe inside my game folder...
I went into FFEdit and opened up a mission, ran "Edit In-Game" and the level editor came up just fine....I assume this is the way to use it properly now...?   It's been a long time since I've played with the editor.

And yes, I created the "2K" version map of Patriot City, along with a coupla others (Drive-In Theater and Ancient) still up on Fxforce's map pages....I was working on a Western mod back in '05 before M$ Service Packs pretty much killed my game.
